  • Weekend family time

"Our family just returned from an extended weekend stay here. The place is very nice and the accommodations were excellent. We traveled there in a 15 passenger van and were easily able to navigate the driveway even though it was very narrow and steep. Some of the corners are rather sharp and nearly required us to back up a time or two but no real problem. We arrived right at dark and did have a little difficulty in finding the place because the road signs were a little difficult to see. Not a real problem. The location is very secluded even though there are neighbors just across the hollow. We could just barely see there house by looking real hard. The wrap around porch was an excellent place to play some games and the game room in the basement was very nice. There is almost no flat space around the house for any outside activities which could be a disadvantage if you have small children and want a place for them to play in the yard. The distance to Franklin was reasonable. We traveled to the Highlands and on to Cashiers which took a little time but the views were great. The roads there were typical mountain roads so you just have to plan your time accordingly. Give yourself enough time that you don't have to be in a hurry. If you want a place to relax in the peace and quiet, this is a great place to go."

  • Enjoyed Our Stay

"My wife and I stayed 3 nights. The location is quiet with a great view of near and distant mountains and valley. Neighbors are distant and rarely seen or heard. The covered front porch and deck offer great outdoor space to relax, read, or eat at the outside table. The owner was very accommodating. The cabin is older with smaller rooms but captures the feel of what a mountain cabin is all about. We hope to return."
