"Hi, I stayed here for my annual birthday getaway and what a treat! Very cozy home, very inspiring for my writing. I enjoyed being away from it all... with only a short drive or hike to town. Very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for! I enjoyed the train going by... only 3 times during my 2 night stay... I would have enjoyed seeing it more! The river access is a real plus. Very nice fire pit and picnic area. Very private and peaceful. I will definitely come back! The hot tubs at the Spa were so relaxing. Town very friendly. I think everyone knew it was my birthday by the time I was leaving! :0) The house is very clean and I just thought it was a blast to drive along the tracks to get there. So close...but so far. Have a great journey .... until next year! peace, Deborah :0)"

"We have rented many cabins in the past and this one is by far the best! The location was great. It was close to town and also close to the Recreational National Forrest. Sight seeing was awesome! We didn't have to drive far at all for scenic pictures and views of the mountains.
Upon arrival there were a few minor wear and tears that we noticed. The porch light by the hot tub doesn't work, the electric outlet cover by the hot tub was broken, the lamp by the bed doesn't work, the screws are loose on the back door's knob and the toilet seat was also loose.
Overall, we had a great time and plan to return soon. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!"

"My friend and I both own log cabins on the shore of Lake Michigan, but we wanted to experience the AT and mountains, so after searching VRBO, we bet on Paint Rock Cabin... If you are looking for a quiet, private retreat with rustic elegance, then Paint Rock Cabin is for you! The place was extremely clean and comfortable with lots of special details. GeGe was very accommodating and provided helpful information and quick, easy communications. This is a great escape to a secluded, beautiful world! I ran along the river, we day-hiked, fished, relaxed and enjoyed... FYI; the kitchen offers ample (quality) pots/dishes/glassware, etc. Hope to return!"

"We rented the VML for a family celebration over a weekend. The property is out of the way, but very easy to find with beautiful scenery on the way. We had 4 different families ranging in ages from 13 to 85 and there was plenty of room for all of us. There are two different outdoor tables on the deck and plenty of seating for everyone. My family enjoyed fishing in the pond and creek. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed using the gas grill! The house was very clean for an older cabin. With all of the windows open there was a wonderful breeze and the ceiling fans were great! Not having to bring linens was a real plus!! There were two full bathrooms in the house; the downstairs bathroom is very roomy. Although we didn't use it much b/c we spent all of our time outside, the large TV with surround sound was awesome! There were a lot of games and books that we didn't take advantage of due to our short stay. The fire pit was a really nice touch at night - we brought our own firewood. The property is very well maintained and just as gorgeous as pictured. But you can't really get a sense of the beauty and peacefulness of the setting unless you are there. I could easily live there! There are no stores close by so be sure and take all of your supplies in with you. Also no cell service but we knew that ahead of time and planned for it. Also if you visit in the spring or summer months, bring some bug repellant and citronella candles which is standard for the mountains. We had several vehicles there and there was plenty of parking for everyone! The beds were very comfortable; the sleeper sofa not so much, but ok for kids. I would recommend this spot to anyone who really wants to experience a relaxing getaway without sacrificing any modern conveniences. We all loved it!!"
