  • Our stay at Sherwood

"We loved Sherwood cabin! We stayed for the weekend and enjoyed hiking part of the Appalachian trail and the spa but we also spent a lot of time just relaxing in the cabin. The fireplace is perfect for a little extra warmth and adding an even cozier feeling to the place. We brought our own food and cooked and just had a very relaxing weekend. The only thing I would say to caution future visitors is depending on the time of year, the road getting up there is steep and was snow covered when we went (end of February) so be careful."

  • Best cabin in the woods ever!!!

"We had the best time with our husky at this river front cabin very well situated almost exactly midpoint from Asheville to Boone and only an hour in a half to Gatlinburg. The town of Hot Springs is close by and adorably cute! Wifi is great only downside to pay attention to is that AT&T cel phone service doesn't reach this spot, but who needs it when you are surrounded by the beautiful outdoors... We will definately be back in the summer!"

  • Georgia Girl

"What a cosy and delightful place to stay! It's perfect for a single, couple, or family of one or two, with kids under 12. Older children might wish for a bit more privacy. The space is very clean and well thought out. It is mere steps away from the AT and it's a very short walk to town, yet it still seemed private and quiet. There's a lovely place to sit outside, complete with a small grill for cooking your dinner. It's only a minute away from a small grocery store, but if you need a larger selection, you'll have to head for the Ingles in Marshall. That said, there are also several great restaurants within walking distance. The cottage is a gem and Hot Springs is a great place to wind down and enjoy nature and the beautiful mountains all around."

  • Magical!

"Hi, I stayed here for my annual birthday getaway and what a treat! Very cozy home, very inspiring for my writing. I enjoyed being away from it all... with only a short drive or hike to town. Very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for! I enjoyed the train going by... only 3 times during my 2 night stay... I would have enjoyed seeing it more! The river access is a real plus. Very nice fire pit and picnic area. Very private and peaceful. I will definitely come back! The hot tubs at the Spa were so relaxing. Town very friendly. I think everyone knew it was my birthday by the time I was leaving! :0) The house is very clean and I just thought it was a blast to drive along the tracks to get there. So close...but so far. Have a great journey .... until next year! peace, Deborah :0)"
