  • Amazing house and hosts! Perfect Getaway!

"Thank you for renting your beautiful home to us. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house had so many personal touches, beautifully decorated and so cozy and comfortable. The layout was perfect and plenty of room to spread out and super kid-friendly. We would go back in a heartbeat! I bet a summer vacation there would be a blast! It was too cold to enjoy the lake at this time of year but it didn't stop the kids from playing in the mud and jumping in! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a vacation home in this area! Thank you again!"

  • Loved this place!

"We rented the VML for a family celebration over a weekend. The property is out of the way, but very easy to find with beautiful scenery on the way. We had 4 different families ranging in ages from 13 to 85 and there was plenty of room for all of us. There are two different outdoor tables on the deck and plenty of seating for everyone. My family enjoyed fishing in the pond and creek. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed using the gas grill! The house was very clean for an older cabin. With all of the windows open there was a wonderful breeze and the ceiling fans were great! Not having to bring linens was a real plus!! There were two full bathrooms in the house; the downstairs bathroom is very roomy. Although we didn't use it much b/c we spent all of our time outside, the large TV with surround sound was awesome! There were a lot of games and books that we didn't take advantage of due to our short stay. The fire pit was a really nice touch at night - we brought our own firewood. The property is very well maintained and just as gorgeous as pictured. But you can't really get a sense of the beauty and peacefulness of the setting unless you are there. I could easily live there! There are no stores close by so be sure and take all of your supplies in with you. Also no cell service but we knew that ahead of time and planned for it. Also if you visit in the spring or summer months, bring some bug repellant and citronella candles which is standard for the mountains. We had several vehicles there and there was plenty of parking for everyone! The beds were very comfortable; the sleeper sofa not so much, but ok for kids. I would recommend this spot to anyone who really wants to experience a relaxing getaway without sacrificing any modern conveniences. We all loved it!!"

  • Beautiful Property

"We had a wonderful weekend at the Laurel cottage! The house was beautiful and the property perfect for all ages to explore. My sons, ages 8, 5, and 3, particularly enjoyed fishing in the ponds (and cooking a fish that was caught), skipping rocks in the river, playing soccer on the lawn, and cooking dinner over the fire pit. After reading the property description regarding the decor of antique furnishings and designer fabrics I was a little hesitant about renting with 3 young boys, but I shouldn't have worried - it was fine. Our only wish is that the weather would have been warmer, but we enjoyed the outdoors quite a bit anyway. We will definitely consider this property and neighboring Willow cottage for a multi-family getaway!"
