  • nice cabin in a very nice lake

"we came 3 families to celebrate the Columbus day. In VRBO you might see 14-16 people but practically it 14 max unless you are willing to use the sofa as a bed. the cabin itself is very nice lots of details and very warm. only 1 master room and all the rest sharing showers and restrooms in separate levels. location is very close to the lake with his own private deck. 6 min from Starbucks and food passage. great lake view and all what you need to spend a lovely weekend with your dearest. during the staying i had some questions and i got prompt response from Sheri the owner - she was very kind !"

  • Home Away from Home - November, 2014

"We have been coming to Hayesville since 2006 and are looking forward to building on our land here in the future. In the meantime, we visit during the Fall/Winter so that we can get away from the Florida heat. This year we stayed at Fisherman's Retreat and had a truly wonderful week. We loved how easy it was to find off the main highway without having to traverse down winding roads in the dark. The cabin was cozy and truly made you feel like you were being hugged by the warmth of it. The dogs loved the fence and quite frankly so did I. It gave me peace of mind and gave them room to roam. My husband loves chopping wood and "being the outdoorsman" on these trips and the scene of him by the rushing stream, splitting wood and watching it snow made me warm and fuzzy. He said it was so relaxing just to be one with the outdoors and the crisp of the air and the quietness of the morning was much needed. The huge open floor plan for the main area was still very cozy due to the Adirondack build. Had a fire going every day. I love to cook and was pleased to find a great selection of pots/pans/glassware/Tupperware to make meals easier to prepare. We played with the giant checkers and the pool table gave us all a few good laughs because none of us were any good at it. :-) We always go to the Copper Door in Hayesville for a romantic dinner and Chef Dennis is always there to make you feel welcome! The Fisherman's Retreat is much larger than we would need, but we waited too late in the season to make our plans so there was not much available for when we wanted to travel. Lucky for us ... because we made some really spectacular memories at this home and will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us...We wish you a fantastic 2015!"

  • Will not disapoint!

"This is a beautiful mountain home with stunning views. One could not wish for more in a VRBO property. I have stayed in many VRBO properties, including many in this area, and this home is the best. Upscale and current furnishings and décor. The thoughtfulness and love put into this home is truly evident. A large deck with eating and barbeque area as well as the hot tub patio were our favorite hang outs despite the lower temperatures. Everything was in perfect working order and information was provided for a local handyman in case it wasn't! The owner was absolutely wonderful to work with and shows a genuine care and concern for his guests and their stay. We would highly recommend to everyone and plan on returning ourselves."

  • Cozy and Comfortable

"We met our in-laws in the mountains for a nice quite Valentine's weekend and this place was just perfect and a great value. The property had a breathtaking view, and the uniqueness of the farmhouse was obviously decorated with good taste and love. To top it off, the bit of snow we travelled through on our way home made the weekend magical. The owner was more than accommodating throughout the trip. My father-in-law was particularly fond of that 'feeling of home' that he felt during our stay. We travel to the mountains quite often and this was a favorite for him. We enjoyed your home Jim, and your hospitality. Thank you!"
