"Oh my goodness! What can I say about this place? PERFECTION! My husband and I rented this beautiful home for a week and had our children and grandchildren. I cannot think of a more perfect setting for our family. The house was just amazing! Everything from the decor to the view was more than I expected. I could not wait to get up and have coffee on the balcony and look at God's beautiful creation. The grandbabies loved the downstairs play area and bunk beds which kept them entertained when they weren't jumping off the dock. The marina was literally within swimming distance from the dock which was very convenient. The kitchen was fully equipped and made cooking with my daughters such a joy! I could go on and on but in a nutshell, one of the best vacations ever! I feel like I know Kimberly just from our emails, texts and conversation. We hope to go again!😊"

"We had a terrific stay at this beautiful lakefront home. The home had everything you could possibly need. It was very clean and in excellent condition! The owner was very responsive and helpful. The kitchen was awesome. Top notch appliances! All of the furniture and decor was very comfortable and beautiful. The outside decks have high quality, comfortable seating and an awesome swing to enjoy the views all day long. You won't be disappointed renting this home!!! We will definitely rent again!"

"My friend and I have been taking family vacations in the western North Carolina mountains for the past 30 years. We have rented houses in Sylva, Dillsboro, Franklin, Sapphire, and have found the Cashiers/Lake Glenville area the most suitable for our extended families of grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The last house we rented in Cashiers had its own 60 Ft. waterfall and a hot tub and was our favorite. It has since been sold and is no longer a rental. Luckily we found Porchlake this summer and we and all our kids have a new favorite. The house had plenty of room . All the improvements Mr. Calloway made over the years were greatly appreciated. The boat was a big plus, and the 3 person tube was an extra added bonus. The location on the cove was tranquil and the sloping grass area between the house and lake was perfect for the smaller grandchildren. Trout fishing, gem mining, waterfall exploring, golf, boating to the nearby island and tubing was enjoyed by all. The house was well equipped and Mr. Calloway's agent, Anne Jones was very helpful with the details to make our stay one of the most enjoyable ever in the North Carolina Mountains. A hot tub on the porch would translate to a name change to Lake Porch Shangra-la!"

"We spent "peak" week for the Fall leaves at this great A-Frame Cottage on beautiful Lake Glenville. My husband and I love coming to NC from FL in the Fall because Florida does not offer anything like this. This home did not disappoint from a location standpoint (BEAUTIFUL lake views from high up on the hill and only a 10 minute ride into Cashiers.) Cashiers didn't have as much of a "town" as we thought it would, but the grocery store and restaurants we found were great and the people are wonderful. We love how close the house was to incredible hiking and waterfalls. The nearby town of Highlands was fantastic with great (upscale) shops and restaurants (about a 30 minute drive.) We even took a day trip to Gatlinburg, TN and enjoyed the Smokey Mountain Highway...got back by 4:30pm so the location is awesome for exploring this whole region.
We found the home to be perfect for two people and with the upstairs loft (three beds), you could easily have a family here and have a blast...particularly in the summer when it is warm enough to enjoy the lake. I would consider the house to be rustic, but comfortable, clean and cozy. There were plenty of towels and linens (although quite worn), and the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and spices and coffee filters. We grilled out three times and particularly loved the wood fire place. The stairs going to the dock (150+) were very steep and slippery due to the leaves and moss, but we knew about that from the reviews. You have to just be careful, but the view and dock and lake are worth every step! It was a good workout coming back up!
The owners were always very responsive and checked in with us after we arrived. Wi-Fi and satellite TV were in perfect working order as were the room heaters (we needed them at night in late Oct!) If you are looking for high end and modern appliances, etc., then try another place...but if you are like us and like to feel like you are at a cabin that has warmth and charm and character...this is a great option!"
