"We spent two months at this lake house, everything was great. The description and photos of the house are accurate, but do not begin to show the artwork that decorates the walls and hangs on the walls. Even after being there several weeks we would see new things. The kitchen is well equipped, we had everything we needed, even if we had had 20 people there would have been enough dinnerware for everyone. The owner was very helpful; she made sure we had all of the information about the house and recommended many activities in the area. Anytime we called or emailed she replied within a couple of hours if she wasn’t available immediately. The porch is the place we spent most of our time, starting with drinking coffee as the sun was rising over the mountains on the other side of the lake with a light mist rising from the water’s surface. Many mornings there would be a flock of geese swimming through the mist, almost like a surreal dream. During the day the porch is shaded and I spent hours trying to read, I was always distracted by the hummingbirds zooming around like little fighter planes. Late afternoon and evenings we enjoyed wine and appetizers while I grilled our dinner which we ate at the picnic table on the porch. The beds were comfortable, it is quite at night. There is plenty of room for lounging around inside watching TV or playing games. We loved it here and hope to be able to return."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: September 7, 2014View listing
"We have just returned home from an 8 day stay and Black Bear Den is wonderful! While my grandson was at his first overnight camping adventure in the area, we spent the week enjoying our time overlooking Lake Glenville. The view, the accommodations, the outside fireplace, the cool mountain air, etc. were terrific. We studied VRBO extensively for a place to rent and we could not have made a better choice!"Guest: Campbell S. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 17, 2014View listing
"My family of four has stayed at the cabin twice over the last 3 years and we just love the place. The Cashiers/Highlands area is the perfect getaway from the summer heat and humidity. The area is an outdoorsman’s paradise – fishing, swimming, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, rafting, golfing. Whatever outdoor activity you choose is available and the weather for it is perfect in the summer months. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked. The basement area with a ping pong table and TV/VCR was perfect for family movie night and knock down, drag-out ping pong matches. The location at the north end of the lake is very secluded – little boat traffic/noise to interrupt the peaceful afternoons. We look forward to coming back again."Guest: Jim Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 1, 2014View listing
