"My friend and I have been taking family vacations in the western North Carolina mountains for the past 30 years. We have rented houses in Sylva, Dillsboro, Franklin, Sapphire, and have found the Cashiers/Lake Glenville area the most suitable for our extended families of grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The last house we rented in Cashiers had its own 60 Ft. waterfall and a hot tub and was our favorite. It has since been sold and is no longer a rental. Luckily we found Porchlake this summer and we and all our kids have a new favorite. The house had plenty of room . All the improvements Mr. Calloway made over the years were greatly appreciated. The boat was a big plus, and the 3 person tube was an extra added bonus. The location on the cove was tranquil and the sloping grass area between the house and lake was perfect for the smaller grandchildren. Trout fishing, gem mining, waterfall exploring, golf, boating to the nearby island and tubing was enjoyed by all. The house was well equipped and Mr. Calloway's agent, Anne Jones was very helpful with the details to make our stay one of the most enjoyable ever in the North Carolina Mountains. A hot tub on the porch would translate to a name change to Lake Porch Shangra-la!"

"We stayed at Treetop with our four sons and their families to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. We usually have gone to the beach for our annual family vacations, but decided to try something different this year. The week was perfect in every way. Joe was a wonderful host, very responsive to all of our needs and requests. We enjoyed some of the wonderful amenities of Trillium - a lovely pool, a catch and release pond, clay tennis courts, tennis clinic, beautiful child-friendly hiking trails which took us past a waterfall, over bridges, and down to the beautiful lake. Our daughter-in-law swam every morning in the lake which was warmer than we expected for the lake with the highest elevation east of the Mississippi. We grilled out on the deck and spent wonderful evenings playing charades and roasting s'mores in the outdoor fireplace. One day, we rented a tri-toon and took the little ones tubing and the pre-teens for their first water-skiing experience. We enjoyed Cornucopia for lunch and the Orchard for dinner. The views were breath-taking, the weather ideal, and everyone we met very friendly. It was hard to come home..... We will definitely come back!"

"We just returned from a 10 day visit to Cashiers North Carolina. We have been going to Cashiers for the past 10 years every summer and always stay in Trillium. This house is hands down the best house we have ever stayed in on our visits. As others have stated the photographs truly do not do it justice. The house is absolutely gorgeous, furnished very well and has been well maintained. Full views of the mountain in the distance. The house is in the upper portion of Trillium which we always prefer as it is the most quiet and the least crowded.
There is a very large backyard, which made it a great area for the kids to play. Most of the houses in Trillium have no yard at all , not only was this a backyard, but is a very large one and a flat plane ,We were able to play bocce ball, throw the football, play hide and seek around the house and let the kids run around and burn off some steam.
The owner is an absolute pleasure to work with. Everything was smooth and seamless from booking of the vacation to checking in and checking out. It is not often, one finds a home for rent that is so well maintained and so well stocked. We ate almost all of her meals in the house and lacks for nothing as far as a kitchen supplies.
Cellphone reception was excellent, satellite TV occupied us while relaxing and the wifi allowed us TV get a little work done while we were away.
All in all, I cannot say enough great things about this property we will absolutely be back in the future."

"We went up for a long weekend to escape the city and the heat and had a wonderful time.
This is probably my 4th time renting there... I love the house, it is cozy and charming with ALL the comforts and amenities of home. It is perfect for couples or families, as it has a great area downstairs for kids or guests. The location of the property is, in my opinion, the best location as it has a beautiful open grassy meadow in front with a fire-pit for roasting smores (you can also go down to the lake area and use those fire-pits) and an area to set-up a badmitton court. The pool is gorgeous with the view of the mountains.
It has always been immaculate, with wonderful sheets and towels. Great restaurants close by if you want to eat out for lunch or dinner. Can't wait to go back, again and again !"
