Great Family Vacation
"We booked a two week stay in the summer of 2013 and were so impressed we have booked to go back for another week in August 2015. The house is spotlessly clean and very well equipped and there can surely be no better sight and sound than sitting in the hot tub on an evening looking out over the lake as the sun goes down surrounded by mature forest.
The fact that the rental includes a boat and canoe is an added bonus and locating the rope swing on the edge of the lake was the highlight of the children's trip and one of the many reasons we are looking forward to going back.
Great base for exploring the waterfalls and backwoods walks. Only advice though, wear insect repellent as the chigger bites are a nuisance!
Can't wait to return !!"

"Hi Debbie, I cannot say enough good things about our stay at your home. The house was immaculate, kitchen well supplied with cooking items, board games for the kids, WiFi, and the view is "Spectacular". We stayed for 9 days and would have no problem staying longer. The new firepit was awesome and we used it every night. Previous reviews have mentioned the road to the house. While it is exciting even as Floridians who always drive on flat roads we found the road completly drivaeable in a non 4WD. We only left the house once when we went rafting because we had no reason to leave. So much fun! Tubing, swimming, the waterfall, canoeing, kayaking. The steps to the lake are fine. We carried our kayaks up and down (once). We were 8 in our house and 12 friends stayed across the lake in another house. They all liked our house better! Could not have asked for a better place and we have stayed on this lake twice before. Thanks again."

"This was a fabulous cabin! The owners were extremely wonderful and the cabin was just gorgeous! The view of the lake, the Nantahala mountains, and the Smoky Mountains National Park was breath-taking. We had dinner at the Lake's-End Cafe, rented a boat from the Lake's-End Marina, went white-water rafting at the NOC, and horse-back riding at the Smokemont Riding Stables. Everyone was accommodating and gracious. There was still so much more to do, but we ran out of time. We hope to come back again!"

Fun mountain adventure for this beach girl and family!
"This place is simply amazing. Stayed with another family. The drive here was scary...but I was the passenger and it was raining. We came from Franklin on Wayah Rd and the twist and turns were crazy, but beautiful! Would def recommend getting here before dark. The gravel driveway was intimidating and like I said, it had been raining...so unless you have a running start, you will spin the tires. We have a Highlander and after the first trip up, he was a pro! We used app rivers for White Water Rafting...fun and way cheaper than NOC. Lakes End Marina was the BEST! Steve and staff was so accommodating and friendly...rented a pontoon, tube, kayaks, paddle boards and spent an entire day on the lake! The Lakes End Cafe was yummy and staff was great! We traveled up to Wayah Bald...I had no idea it was so far up the gravel road, but was totally worth it!!! Just be mindful that it's very narrow, but doable if another car is coming down. Went to Pizza By The River...pizza was pretty good...atmosphere was very good. Sitting by the Nantahala River for supper was fab! We also visited the Rustic Market off of Wayah Rd. expensive items, but the lady was friendly in there! We will hopefully be back to enjoy this cabin. Stocked very nicely with the items we needed! Gas grill was a hit too."
