Wonderful time at Lake Nantahala
"We had a wonderful time at this cozy cabin in the woods. We went expecting to see beautiful fall colors....and we did, for one day. It snowed our first night there and it was a winter wonderland the next day. Just enough snow to be beautiful, and not impede our traveling around. Thank you for your care of this delightful cabin and at such a reasonable rate. We are thinking it would be a nice retreat this summer so we can get out on the lake."

"We love this place! But getting there was a joy in itself.
Driving down Waterfall Byway of North Carolina you can hike to a wonderful array of waterfalls along its winding route. In autumn, the beautiful foliage lined the road embracing you in vibrant colors as you curved around every corner. As you turn into Wayah Rd. from Franklin to Nantahala, you begin at the foothills of the Smokies. Farm houses and church sit quietly below the towering peaks around them welcoming your eyes as you drive by. You'll be deep in the beautiful Nantahala Mountain before you know it, and make sure you check out Wayah Bald along the way.
Upon arriving, the house was a welcoming site. Ample parking spaces for 4+ cars. The gorgeous view of the lake in autumn will take your breath away immediately when you open the front door. You'll be greeted with the warm evening light from the setting sun over the peaks across the lake. We didn't even unpack. We took off immediately to the back deck to take sight in. There is a canoe and paddle boat below at the dock waiting patient for you to take them to the water. There was always a delightful breeze gently blowing across the valley. It was a perfect autumn evening.
The house had everything we needed and more. You may think they don't have it until you find it in one of the many cabinets or closets there. There is a gas furnace there for heating and the fireplace is ready if you prefer that too. Plenty of clean towels and sheets if you need them. The washer and dryer are on the lower floor along with ping pong tables and couches for you hang out. Both floor have decks looking out to the lake.
The lake receded somewhat when we were there as it was autumn. The dock ran into ground as it was tied down. However, it was easy to get the canoe into the water. There may be at the most one two boat in the lake at the time when we paddle out. Most of the time it feels like the lake was all yours.
I will say no more. You'll love this place if you appreciate nature and its quietness. When I looked for a vacation rental, I though it was either the lake or the mountain. But my Fiancee wanted both and she got it! We stayed Oct 26th through the 29th."

"This was our second trip to this wonderful lakehouse on Lake Nantahala. We had such a wonderful time the first time and had an equally wonderful trip the second time. The owners of the property have made some fantastic upgrades to the property since our visit the year before. These upgrades included a new gorgeous fire pit, beautiful outdoor decking, landscaping, and beautiful new countertops and fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen. We thought the house couldn't get any more gorgeous than it was on our first trip. We were wrong! Our kids ages 7, 12, and 16 love kayaking, canoeing, feeding the ducks, swinging from the rope swing, and just floating around the crystal clear lake.
The house was so inviting and had absolutely everything we needed or wanted. We had more than enough space and everything we needed to unplug and get away from it all. The sunsets and evenings by the fire pit were so relaxing and fun-filled.
We did rent a boat for the day from the Lakes End Marina and had a ball tubing, knee boarding, and just sightseeing. We also ventured out for a day of fun white water rafting at the NOC.
This is our absolute favorite family vacation. We all don't ever want to leave and hope that this trip becomes a family tradition for us."

"Beautiful views. Relaxing lake with very little boating, only a few fishing boats. Good canoe and exceptionally calm water to paddle around in. Older but clean cabin with comfortable beds. Great kitchen set up with nice gas grill that actually lights. You will need to get there before dark as roads are narrow with sharp turns. as you would expect around a lake in the mountains."
