Its the Mountains After All
"Well Done interior cabin was absolutely cleaned to a T and beautiful with lots of room for many guests. Kitchen is not huge but its open and proximity to dining area makes it super functional. Bedrooms were great, bed was large and comfortable. This cabin is nestled atop the mountains outside Andrews and thus has no cell or internet signal--if that is a must have this is probably not your cabin, but as a CIO I can sit was nice to be unplugged for awhile. The firepit with dry wood even though it was raining 2 of the days we stayed was a definite plus--made for a great family bonfire on our last night. The drive up is beautiful, other guests were kind enough to leave Ingles cards so stop by the cabin before groceries. Absolutely lovely short drive to the Nantahala gorge so if you are a trout fisherman this is your place.
A couple of nits--the direct neighbors are in a rundown mobile trailer..not that well kept, which I don't think would be bad except the placement of the cabin itself means no real views of the mountains except on drive up and down. For us it was a minor distraction. The shrubbery near porch needs a trim...really minor but the thorns caught several of the kids up and down the stairs. If you are a family that watches what your kids watch then the VHS library is perfect...no blue ray player only DVD, we didnt care. It was really lovely"

Nice stay. great for dogs. Little dated. Will return.
"I went up to beautiful Lake Nantahala for four days with my husband, son, and his friend. I wish that I would have brought my two little dogs. It is the perfect place for dogs. There is little traffic as it is nestled away on an almost private road. The location is convenient as it is close to the Lake's-End marina and restaurant. It sleeps about 12, including two sofas. The bed and bath are upstairs. The kitchen and half bath is downstairs. There is one working fireplace downstairs, and they provide the wood. We loved this. There are no decks, but there are large picture windows and a patio. It would be great if there was some vista pruning, but one can still see the lake pretty well. The place is clean but has a slight mildew odor in the upstairs area. There is no dishwasher and no wifi. Cell service was also not existent for our carrier. The neighbors oversee the place and are wonderful. They answered our questions and made sure that we had everything that we needed. They also rent their pontoon boat for a great price. It is a bit dated, but they are refurbishing it soon. It is a great deal at 165.00 per day plus paying for gas. We took the boat out and toured the entire lake. The boat owners are flexible and knowledgeable about the area. The dock is also a bit dated, but the owners are getting a new one soon. Two canoes, a flat bottom boat, a grill, all cooking utensils, etc. are included. Also, bedding, bath and beach towels are provided. This place provided a nice unplugged weekend. It was only 17 miles to Franklin, NC, where we ate at the food truck and tested samples at the Loafing Hiker Brewery, and 15 or so miles to Anderson. There is hiking everywhere. We spent most of the time pontooning and kayaking on our own kayaks. The marina rents paddle boards, kayaks, etc.. We will return."

"I just loved the layout of this cabin. And how clean and well maintained it is. It's location is central to so many opportunities such as fishing, hiking, rafting, exploring by car etc.. Some local highlites are Nantahala Outdoor Center, Wayah Bald and Trail of Tears. Not to mention the lake, rivers and streams. Donna is great to work with. She will answer your questions in a timely manner and just make the arrangements very easy. I would recommend this cabin and working with Donna and Greg for vacation rentals."
