Recent Lake Nantahala reviews

"Don't hesitate in choosing this home for your vacation! We came over for 9 nights from the UK and having rented in the USA via VRBO/homeaway for the last 10+ years, I can wholeheartedly say that this house is exactly as advertised, in fact it's better! The view once you walk through the front door is outstanding and the dock area too is just idyllic. We only had a regular hire car, not 4wd and it was fine. It is pretty remote but there is a big grocery shop in Andrews, as well as a good coffee store. We rafted and zipped at the Nantahala outdoor centre, again not too far away. The lake itself was quiet and so clear and warm for swimming. The kayaks and canoe were perfect for heading over to the little island with the rope swing - perfect for our teenage sons! As was the games room with pool table - plenty of room for us all to spread out. The hummingbirds that visited the feeder on the deck were also a real treat. Go ahead - you won't be disappointed."

  • Great House with Phenomenal Views!

"My wife, two young children, and myself had the opportunity to rent this house at the end of February. We found the house to be really nice, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. The 180 degree views that you are rewarded with from inside and out are phenomenal! The house was well equipped with everything that we needed to make for a comfortable stay. It had just snowed about 3" - 4" the day before our arrival. We had intended on driving our 4x4 truck anyways, but the homeowner as nice enough to call and suggest four wheel drive prior to our departure. We had no problems at all getting to the house, but with the snow it could've been a challenge without four wheel drive. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a nice winter getaway with or without kids. It would make a great place for a couple of families to get away to together. I'm sure that the lake would be a lot of fun and beautiful in the summer as well. Fall views must be spectacular from the house. We'll definitely return!"

  • Sweet Spot

"The sound of the stream, the green of the woods were better than a spa. The cabin is very clean, with a lot of care to keep things dry in this deep forest. Anyone who wants serenity, privacy and simplicity will love this place. The beds are comfortable and there are games and DVDs for the whole (small) family. I would have liked better lighting and an open bedroom window (it had a window air conditioning unit which wasn't needed and made the room feel stuffy while it was gorgeously cool outside)."

  • amazing property breathtaking views

"We really loved the open floor plan and how accommodating the owners were for our stay. They were very responsive with answering our questions. We will definitely be coming back to stay here again. They had everything we need to complete our weekend gateway!"
