  • A Fall Break to remember

"My husband, children and grandchildren had a wonderful Fall Break at this fabulous house. We could not have asked for a better location or accommodations in the house. There were so many things to do, we kept going from the time we ate breakfast until the fire in the pit burned out. We hiked on several different roads and viewed the beautiful scenery from the top of the mountains. There were many things to be entertained with in the house, but the weather was so pleasant that we spent all day outside and evening in the hot tub or around the fire. This is truly a great place to create memories."

  • amazing location

"AMAZING LOCATION. We got in late and was grateful there wasn't just a key at the door, but greeted like a family guest. After getting lost, long drive, so thankful. The FTR caretaker was great. She listened to our wish list, where to find the local casino, best horse Back riding, Fly fishing classes, and a watercolor painting class....even our special needs for groceries she nailed where to go? She made suggestions and helped us book most of our activities within the hour. My family can not say enough about the calm, southern kindness and the over all efficiency of everyone we met while staying at cabin. Plus, Plus, Plus! We really enjoyed the local unadvertised attractions, and local hang outs that were recommended. Loved the Smoky mountain train going by, everyone waves at us, so local and perfect. We stayed 7 nights went to the recommended Local Trout Farm, a huge Local Blue Berry Farm and two amazing Old North Carolina Inns for dinners out. The Cabin was all we dreamed of inside and out. The yard so beautifully landscaped on the river bank. The photos just don't do it all justice. LOVED the Hammock! River Sunsets! Perfect memory - Cooked trout outside at the fire pit, drank locally brewed beers from Bryson City, caught lighting bugs and our dogs swam in the river bed for hours."

  • Quiet, Beautiful, Luxury in the Mountains

"The first thing about this place was the ease of working with the owners. Rob was very quick to respond to any questions we had and gave some nice suggestions of restaurants to visit in Waynesville. There are a lot of wonderful things about this place. The location is quiet, and although it can be a little tricky getting there, you feel at home and at peace when you are there. The home itself is extremely well built. You can see they paid very close attention to details and used great materials in building it. The downstairs is very nice with the pool table, wet bar, huge fireplace, TV and full bath. It was about 5 degrees cooler down there, which was nice during the warm days outside. Having a garage is nice if you are there during the winter. As you go upstairs to the main level it is also very nice. The outside deck is very large and can accomodate a very large party, although our party was just the two of us. The living area is also huge and open. The acoustics in there is really nice so when you are playing music or have the TV on you can hear it all over the house. The kitchen was really well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and pretty much whatever you might need, although we were glad we brought our own Keurig. The master suite was spacious and well-appointed. It was easy to see how two small kids could sleep on the window seat because it was very wide. The room had a nice sitting area to read a book or work a crossword puzzle. And the windows that allowed you to look out into the valley was a really nice design detail. There were a few negatives but nothing that would keep us from giving it 5 stars or from coming back. If you are a sports fan and expect to watch ESPN during the fall football season, you won't get it here. The TV in the living room was relatively small for the large space it was in. If you are in the kitchen preparing a meal and want to see the screen it's not easy to see. The TV downstairs is also small and an older model, but again, your not here just to watch TV. The only other thing was the gas grill was left unclean by the previous renter. Not the owners fault. Looked like someone grilled some fish and left the skin on the grill. Couldn't find a wire brush to clean it off. Overall, this was one of the nicest places we've stayed. It's new, it's modern, it's well equipped, and it's the kind of place you can enjoy by being away from it all or you can venture 20 minutes into town and do a lot of things."
