"Magnificent Home in an incredible forest setting. Pictures do not adequately describe it ! You will not want to leave the back porch overlooking the sights and sounds of Rushing Mills Creek. Luxurious and comfortable furnishings throughout. Convenient to Brevard / Cashiers/ and Highlands. Rent a boat at Lake Toxaway Marina 5 minutes from home. Nicest home we have rented in the area in last 10 years. Certainly plan on returning in the future. Tough to come back to the flatland of Florida after a week here. Owners very helpful and have extensive info in the home on things to do , places to visit, and dining options in the area. This will rate as a "bucket list" experience for you. You will leave with lasting memories. Enjoy !!"

"My husband and I drove up from the coast for the weekend for a change of scenery and cooler weather. We were drawn to this home because of the hot tub offered at the clubhouse, the indoor and outdoor fireplaces at the home, screened in porch, spa tub in the master and the newer style of the home.
It is a beautiful home - great design with all the fancy touches including state-of-the-art kitchen and baths. It is also a very comfortable home with great spaces.
There were some disappointing parts. The ice maker was off when we got there and it appeared it was leaking into the inside of the freezer. The manager seemed put out when we asked for help, and told us we could go over to the clubhouse to get ice if we needed it. The home is in an isolated area with the nearest gas station or grocery a half hour away by car so we got our ice for the weekend from the clubhouse. The spa tub was also broken and would not bubble. Firewood is provided but was wet due to recent rains so using the fireplace was out. The master bedroom also had an odd unidentifiable smell. Last of all, the television has only seven channels, including the major networks, PBS and weather. If you want to watch anything at all, bring your own Roku, movies or iPad converter.
This home would be a wonderful retreat to the mountains but the management team does not seem to care for it very well. It definitely needs a little TLC, if only to make sure things are working before a guest checks in. The rental rate is too high for things not to work properly and the manager to be indifferent to concerns."

"Our son was playing in the State Little League 11-12 tournament in Brevard, so we decided to rent a house instead of staying in hotel for the week and this house was the PERFECT choice! The kids loved being close to the lake and playing cornhole and boche ball in the yard and the adults loved spending time on the porch! The house layout was also perfect - room enough for everyone to spread out and the downstairs is ideal for kids to have their own space! Not your typical "rental" house - owners have more than the bare necessities stocked and could not have been any easier to work with. Great location for touring around the area and enjoying all that there is to offer. We all LOVED going tubing! Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock were also huge hits! We hope to return with more free time to explore!"

"Review #10770134 “Hawks Ridge Home - Perfect in every way!”
My wife, daughter, and I are from Roanoke, Virginia. My brother and his two adult children are from Alabama. We wanted to meet somewhere in the middle to celebrate the holidays and spend some quality family time together. Catatoga was just about exactly equidistant from our homes and appeared on the VRBO website to be the perfect location. Not only was it the perfect location, it was perfect in every conceivable way. For starters, Kristin with the rental group was a delight to work with. Her competency and pleasant manner was just the beginning of a wonderful experience. The home was immaculate and just as advertised. The clubhouse satisfied the competition gene in our family, as we played pool, foosball, ping pong, bocce ball, croquet, and horseshoes. The trails and Catatoga waterfalls hike was spectacular and easy. The lake was perfect and we spent some time (60 degrees and perfect blue sky in late December!) on the dock and gazebo. It cooled off a good bit at night which made a perfect setting for a roaring fire with the plentiful wood that was provided. An excursion to nearby waterfalls ended with a stop in Brevard, which proved to be a really cool small town just perfect for wandering on a Saturday. Even Daisy, our 4 year old Labradoodle had a blast. In summary, I highly recommend Catatoga and the amazing staff."
