Good Gracious, Great Vacation!
"This cabin is truly fantastic. We ate all breakfasts and dinners at the picnic table on the main deck just so we could enjoy the cool mountain breeze and majestic views. We were a family of four with two grandparents and had plenty of room to spread out. Our time was spent touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, horseback riding, ruby mining, and tubing in Deep Creek. We had delicious food at Ammon's in Maggie Valley, and Waynesville is just a short drive away if you need a large grocery store. The cabin has everything you need for a vacation base. Rocking chairs, a hammock, and comfortable beds for relaxing, plentiful T.V.'s for entertainment, and an iron skillet for frying freshly caught trout. There is also a large Weber grill for hamburgers and hotdogs. My young children really enjoyed the playground at the base of the mountain and were very sad to leave the house. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay."

Great vacation rental, but needs some attention to detail
"We were super excited to be staying in the mountains for a week and choose this rental for proximity to places we wanted to visit, number of bedrooms, and amenities the house offered. The house itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated. There was plenty of space for all 7 of us. I loved the log cabin structure, the open floor plan, and the wrap around porch! We loved the backyard view of the cows and spent a lot of time sitting on the porch swing watching them. Someone had left hand soaps and toilet paper for us so that was a nice and welcomed surprise. As we got acquainted with the property, we kept finding little things that made me wonder why we paid so much to stay here.
- Instead of putting notes that things are broken, the management / owner should take time to fix them. The ice maker & the master bedroom doors to the back deck were broken and had notes attached to them "do not use". You could tell that the notes had been there for some time.
- The high speed internet is not very high speed at all. If two people tried to access it at one time, it was very sluggish. I had to bring work with me so it was a little bit challenging.
- The shower fixtures & bathroom towels should be replaced. The shower heads were very disappointing. Basic, cheap models from a local hardware store. The shower head at the Comfort Inn that I stayed at on the way here was nicer. At least I could change the stream. The towels in the upstairs bathroom are hard-water stained. If hard water is an issue, then maybe white towels aren't the best choice.
- The game room needs some TLC. The TV didn't have any channels; it needs new pool sticks, ping pong paddles, and ping pong balls.
We took the time to visit Cataloochee while we were here. It was only a few miles away, but since it was mountain miles, it took about 40 minutes to get there. The trails were fun and the animals were amazing. We saw elk, turkeys, coyotes, and a black bear!
We enjoyed our stay, but I do wish the issues above had been taken care of before we visited. (We didn't see the last review until we were actually in the home.) It would have turned "GREAT" rental into an "AMAZING" rental."

"Pretty last minute trip to Maggie Valley for us. Property owner was extremely easy to work with on reservations. Home was in great shape, beds comfortable, everything one would expect! We use vrbo often as opposed to staying in a hotel and will be more than happy to visit this location again. Very convenient to Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Cataloochee, Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway while still being secluded."
