"Our vacation started with an incredible fireworks show on the lake from the pontoon boat that comes with the house. That was really fun and a first for us! This house is very comfortable and relaxing! We really enjoyed the screened porch! Lake Chatuge is beautiful with gorgeous mountain views. Great swimming! We bought floats at Costco that were like lounge chairs for the water! Cliff the owner is very easy to deal with and quickly takes care of any hiccups. This was our first lake vacation and it was wonderful!"

"The pictures do not do this cabin justice. It is so nice and roomy inside. The description is right about no mountain view, but that would be the only negative. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Easy to get to and close to town without feeling like you were in town. Thanks to the Whitlocks for sharing their home."

"I would like to say that this was an awful place to keep others away, but I won't. Everything I read about this rental was spot on, especially how clean it is kept. Jim and Teri were easy to deal with and very friendly. The house itself is set up nicely and is close to everything. We had a great time and will definitely return."

"I loved staying in the beautiful house. The lake was clean and clear. It was fantastic to walk out of the house and take a refreshing swim.
I thoroughly enjoyed the long peaceful days and the star scattered nights. I loved to sit outside and look at the beatiful mountain view, close and clear by day; shadowy and distant by night. I loved sitting outside at night. You could look up and view the stars and listen to the whipper wheel. The call of the whipper wheel bringing me back to childhood nights spend with my Grandma in her West Virginia home. Having the boat was great. We were able to take scenic rides on the lake. I liked seeing the memorial island near the marina.
My husband and grandson enjoyed fishing from the house and the fishing trip with Bobby. My grandson finally out fished his Pop-Pop with the biggest fish and the most fish caught on the fishing trip.
I did not leave the house until we decided to visit Fontana Village and the dam on Friday. We also visited Cherokee, NC on our way home. We enjoyed a visit to pan for gems. It was fun and we even brought home some bags to pan. There are plenty of attractions to keep busy if you desire.
We could not have asked for better hosts. Steve, Marcella and Bobby were wonderful. Helping to unload your supplies, providing you with the boat ride to the house and helping you get unloaded and settled. Steve was as close as a phone call with any questions. Bobby was readily available to handle any need you may have. They are great folks and make you feel at home.
I would visit Fontana lake and the Floating house more than once. If you are looking for a wonderful vacation this is a highly recommened choice by our family. Thanks for everything and we hope to visit again!!!!!!!!"
