"Our family from Florida spent a week in the cool mountain retreat. We had our 5 grandchildren(5,6,8,9,10)with us and they enjoyed the creek and hiking right at the cabin. Cabin was out of the town of Murphy but rich in history. We enjoyed traveling and swimming at Hanging Dog Campground park right down the road. Day trips including Murphy's courthouse, museum, shopping and eating at Mainstreet Pizza Buffet (has a game room for kids and adults)and the China House buffet. (very reasonable). If you have time visit the flea market on 64 west outside of Murphy Sat and Sun it has some very neat things. Took another day trip to Fields of Woods ( this is a place to get even closer to God if you are not there by being in the mountains) the gift shop is wonderful for that special one. Hanging Dog and Field of Woods great for picnics along with the River Walk in Murphy. The home is wonderful and has everything you could need. (all you need is the groceries). Debbie (owner) was a great and made you feel right at home. I would love to have this house as my own."

"One week at Rose Mount Manor was so wonderful that we forgot about the real world. I hesitate giving a great review because others will be encouraged to book here, reducing the chance we'll have a booking slot in the future. We would definitely come back. Shortly after our arrival, Tom called just to be sure everything was satisfactory. My wife and I were able to enjoy the open deck day-times (when we weren't exploring Murphy and surrounding area) and the mosquito-free screened porch in the evenings. While the dogs cavorted in the completely fenced yard (salamanders are new to them!) and watched mom and dad nuthatch flit about feeding their young in the nearby birdhouse, my wife and I relaxed to the gentle resonant healing sounds from the Corinthian chimes. We took the dogs for "exploratory" evening walks downtown along the 2-mile river walk which of course they enjoyed. The dogs also came with us on our side trip to Rock City (pet friendly too!) and enjoyed the panoramic views of seven states at the highest overlook. We didn't visit the restaurants as the kitchen at Rose Mount had everything we needed to prepare our own home-away-from-home meals. The dogs had no complaints about their bedroom - all their crates fit handily. The master bed was comfortable. We left the bedroom door to the porch open over night to enjoy the mountain air and listen to the peaceful night sounds. A nearby rooster added to the country atmosphere promptly every morning at 6:00am to usher in another wonderful day."

"My boyfriend and I stayed here over the weekend. Strickland was very accommodating and understanding, even though I had pretty last minute plans! The cabin was very clean and well-maintained. I'm a neat freak and would notice otherwise. We really enjoyed being so close to the river, and our dogs did too! The river and area overall was really pretty even for winter. Even though it was definitely cold outside, it was an excellent place for a "getaway" and we found neat local stuff to do: thrift store shopping - there are SO many around, visited a local winery called Eagle Fork Vineyards, ate at this restaurant called Brother's (that was absolutely amazing and inexpensive!), and just relaxed. It was definitely worth the trip."

"Fabulous home in a fabulous location.
Pictures never do justice for almost any mountain landscape view and the same is true here. I was really impressed with the gorgeous views ... even when it rained it was amazing! This area truly embodies the absolute beauty of the North Carolina Smokey Mountains. It is located smack dab in the center of some of the nation's most beautiful driving roads so be sure to bring the GTR or the FJR for this trip. You will kick yourself if you don't - so fair warning is given.
It is a perfect launch point to see the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway (arguably one of the nicest parts of the 469 mile parkway), or maybe the Cherohala Skyway, Deals Gap, or you could quickly and easily drop down into North Georgia's fantastic Appalachian mountain roads for some awesome sight-seeing and excellent driving.
The home was very well equipped and in very nice condition. We enjoyed the hot tub (and it has quite the view) although the hot tub could've been a little cleaner - it was due for a cleaning. Very private location high up on a mountain. Smooth pavement all the way up to the lodge although you will not want to take your eyes off the road on your way up. Requires total focus while climbing or descending the mountain for sure. It's located in a very nice gated community. We definitely want to come back!"
