"My husband and two children went to this cabin in the middle of June for a few days. It was actually our second time there. We went years ago and thought we would come back. The first time was great and this time was even better! We love the new King bed in the master room that was just added. The cabin was clean and we could tell all the upgrades like painting they have done through the years. The river was beautiful as before and the area right in the backyard is really breathtaking. We had fun fishing, tubing and relaxing! We won't wait so long to come back!"

"We so much enjoyed the Nottely River Retreat from the moment we arrived, to the day we left. The rushing river was soothing and lulled us to sleep each night. The weather was perfect for daily hiking and waterfall hunts. Dinner at the local rib restaurant in Murphy was delicious. Nearby trail biking on Lake Chatuge was invigorating, challenging and scenic. The neighbors are very friendly, and Bentley and Mercedes both accompanied us on our morning walk. The cabin was well furnished and very clean, and the owner was very pleasant to work with. We will definitely consider returning in the future. Thank you for sharing your home with us."

"We decided to rent this home. We had 5 adults and 5 children (age 2 to 11). The owners could not have treated us any better. We had told them we were going to do a lot of grilling and there was a brand new grill when we arrived. The loft we thought would have a futon in it but it also had two single beds, much to the delight of our three granddaughters. As on many lake homes there were many steps (40 from the garage to the house) and steps from the house to the dock, but the steps got easier each time we used them. The home was spacious and the views were spectacular! The lake was very clean and calm and not a large amount of boat traffic. Our daughter was able to practice wake boarding and the owners had two kayaks that we used the entire time! We rented a pontoon that was delivered to our dock. I rented this house because I needed the ladder at the end of the pier so that I could get out of the water. We enjoyed the ping pong table and the large deck. There is a bat house so we watched bats, ducks, squirrels and fish (you could see them from the pier). I feel so blessed that we ended up with this house because it was so peaceful and relaxing. If you have a hammock bring it! Some of the things we did, water rafting, zip lining, hiking, jet skiing, kayaking and tubing. There is a kid zone for zip lining (starts at age 4). Thank you for allowing us to spend our vacation at your beautiful home. Hope we can come again next year."

"We had 11 family members (5 boys ages 11-15) and Stoney Brook was the most perfect house for our big family vacation. The lake was clear and not too cold (for these FL toes) and we had the cove all to ourselves. We brought a boat (highly recommended) for tubing, fishing and exploring but all of us enjoyed the kayak as well. The boys loved the rope swing and jumping off the "cliffs" by the damn. The views are spectacular and the house has everything you could want. We especially enjoyed the screened in deck/fireplace area for reading in the morning and really all day enjoyment. We couldn't believe it but there wasn't one mosquito all week! The house is set up perfectly for multiple families with lots of room (and separation) for kids and adults. While the walk down to the lake is a bit steep, we felt it was much easier than hundreds of steps (like other rentals we had considered). I really can't imagine a better location or home. The whitewater rafting at NOC was a highlight of our week with a guide ("Lee") that made it a most memorable experience. I recommend the 9:00 run as it is beautiful, peaceful time before the river fills with rafts. In all honesty, the steep driveway was challenging but Roy warned us (and all of them are like this around the lake). We had a 4 wheel drive vehicle which was fine but there was no way my in-laws Kia Sorrento could make it so we had to park it off site. (the steepness is no exaggeration.) Finally, Roy was wonderful to deal with; very helpful at every turn, answered my many questions and was prompt with paperwork, etc. He even mailed back a forgotten item which I greatly appreciated. This is a gorgeous property built on a slice of Heaven and we have memories for a lifetime. Thank you!!"
