  • Great cabin!

"My family of four has stayed at the cabin twice over the last 3 years and we just love the place. The Cashiers/Highlands area is the perfect getaway from the summer heat and humidity. The area is an outdoorsman’s paradise – fishing, swimming, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, rafting, golfing. Whatever outdoor activity you choose is available and the weather for it is perfect in the summer months. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked. The basement area with a ping pong table and TV/VCR was perfect for family movie night and knock down, drag-out ping pong matches. The location at the north end of the lake is very secluded – little boat traffic/noise to interrupt the peaceful afternoons. We look forward to coming back again."

  • Great cabin, great location!

"We had 7 people (4 adults, 3 kids ages 10-11 yrs) at Bears Den during our Fall Break and it was perfect. Asheville was a very easy drive from the cabin and we made a point to enjoy that eclectic city every evening for dinners. Gorgeous hiking locations were very close as well, and we took advantage of that during the days. The trees were starting to turn which made the hikes that much more amazing. We also made many fires in the fireplace, played poker and games and the kids used the hot tub regularly! The cabin's main area is a great hangout area. Everyone had plenty of room and we were all very comfortable. Our families can't wait to return."

  • I wish there was a sixth star!

"Five stars are not enough to express my delight with my stay at Eagles Perch. I've been coming to Asheville for decades—stayed in B&Bs and even the Grove Park Inn— but my stay at Eagles Perch was far and away my most memorable, most relaxing ultimate Asheville experience. If I was lucky enough to live in Asheville, this is the type of home I would want. The owners have great taste and exquisite attention to detail. The home is decorated with so many beautiful furnishings, unique lighting fixtures and works of art—all in the keeping with the spirit of Asheville's arts and crafts legacy. The master suite (the entire top floor) with its garden tub and gorgeous separate shower, is like staying at a spa. And the views from the every level of the home are spectacular. You can tell that the owners have travelled extensively themselves and have anticipated their guests' every need. The house is spacious—three levels—with something for everyone. My 12 year old son loved the ping pong table and the variety of games, TVs, etc. When we were ready to take a hike, we just had to head out the door and walk along the near-private roads to experience streams, waterfalls, and beautiful views of Asheville. We were here with two other couples and everyone had plenty of room to spread out, read, talk, watch TV, cook, etc. Speaking of, I love to cook and this kitchen was equipped with EVERYTHING I could possibly need to prepare a gourmet meal. When it's time to turn in, the very comfy beds are appointed with 100% cotton sheets and luxurious blankets and comforters. The temperature plunged while we were there and the wood burning stoves were awesome. I can't think of a better place to bring in the New Year. It's a great home for family reunions or gatherings! We will definitely return and hope to make Eagle's Perch our "home" in Asheville."
