  • Cozy Cottage

"We stayed at Chapel View last weekend for a wedding. It was perfect for my husband, two teenage daughters and myself. The cottage was spotlessly clean, plenty of towels and beautifully decorated. My oldest daughter LOVED the piano and the youngest the huge collection of movies. Hope to return to hike the AT."

  • PARADISE!

"I LOVED it. Cabin is designed well, clean, modern, functional. Property is AMAZING. My son (age 8) and I took a father/son trip over thanksgiving, just to get away. And we took our Bernese Mountain Dog (5 months old) with us. The weather gave us a bit of a fit. The day we arrived, it was raining so hard, we could barely see 50 feet ahead of us driving up. After getting unloaded and settled in, we stayed cozy by the gas fireplace, playing games and watching movies. That night, it was predicted to have some snow flurries, which turned into 17 hours of snow! For my son and my dog (who had never seen snow, but is, well, a mountain dog) had the most fun as we walked, played and explored the property. There's plenty of well maintained trails and lots to see. Would love to see the areas around the creek in the summer. Owner has made benches to sit and watch the stream in several places along the flowing water. The driveway in and out is SCARY the first time going either up or down. And since we arrived in the pouring rain and then the snow came, we only had one trip each way--never left the property for our entire stay. Lots of shade on the driveway so the snow turned to ice sheets in several places. In my worries about the driveway and being able to get back out, I emailed the property manager, who helped make me feel better, giving me the contact information for the owner who would be available to help if needed. We did NOT have a four wheel drive and we made it, but in the future, I'd probably want to have one in any bad weather. The kitchen was stocked with all we needed. I noticed little things that most rentals don't have--we had extra batteries if we needed them for the remotes, we took paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc, but brought them all back home--never needed them. The kitchen had plenty of dish towels and dish clothes, something I never see, so that was something else we didn't need to pack. I slept in the front bedroom and my son slept in the loft. Beds were fantastic, slept better than I do at home. The front porch was my favorite place, even in the cold. Go sit and listen to the creek and watch my son and dog running and playing. The sight was amazing. I can't say enough about Susan, the property manager...I felt she was there for anything I needed. My son actually broke down in tears over having to leave--and I felt the same way. I look forward to coming back!"

"Such an amazing place! Perfect time of year for fall colors and the weather was so wonderful. So many things to do and never enough time. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. From the moment you walk in the door it smells like home, baked goods with a little woodsy twist. Loved it! Complete with makings for s'mores on the table, and after hiking to the falls the hot tub was awesome. Can't wait to get back to Granny's Cabin again. I recommend reading the local books on the table so you can get a plan to make the most of your time. I really loved the front porch swing and the sounds of the forest. The cabin is so cozy, loved the decor, makes you feel at home and so peaceful. Apple picking was fun too. Can't say enough about how great the location is also. Mountains, waterfalls, shopping, Apple farms or just sitting on the porch taking it all in. 2 days is way too short :(. Made memories of a lifetime."
