"We loved it. Perfect for bringing our pet. Felt very home like and comfortable. Great for day trips in the surrounding areas. Highlands, Bryson City for rafting, Helen for an excellent pretzel @ the Bavarian Inn. Host was very good in communications with our questions."

"We stayed in the Laurel Cottage for a family reunion and celebration of my mother's 75th birthday. We loved the home with all the special touches that made it feel like a home and not a rental. We had beautiful weather and were able to thoroughly enjoy the property. Everyone loved the rope swing(even the adults), field for soccer right beyond the patio, fishing in the pond, relaxing in tubes on the river, and watching the sunset from the knoll. Every where you looked, it was picture perfect! We love going out to eat but we decided to cook all our meals at the home and enjoy the scenery in front of us. We did decide to leave the property to experience Sliding Rock. The drive was a little longer than expected and very windy but watching my mother go down Slippery Rock on her 75th birthday is a memory I will never forget. This is a place we will be sure to return to. Thank you!"

"“The Long and Winding Road” Although a song by the Beatles it is a perfect description of your great mountain hideaway. Floridians, beach people, go to the mountains for a change of scenery. We don't drive on mountain roads and they always seem longer and more winding. Every inch worth the drive. To sit and look towards the Appalachian Trail and wonder who might be ready to start their long adventure. To sit and listen to the quiet (it's a great non-sound). To watch the winter birds search for a feeding as the sun begins to warm the mornings after sub-freezing nights. To watch the slowing emptying feeder as if it were an hour glass. A weekend, an Anniversary celebration, a Valentine get-away, all provided by your Smokey Mountain retreat.
Thanks for the extra treat of firewood, though we brought some of our own. Thanks for the clean and restful environment. Most of all, thanks for the great directions. They were spot-on.
Dinner at Cafe REL, Lucio's, and in Cherokee at Brio Tuscan Grill filled all the needs for fine dining. Even offering the use of your Ingles card was an extra thoughtful touch.
We will be back.
John and Cheryl"

"Hummingbird Heights (HH) was the perfect location to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a home with a beautiful view where we could spend time together on the deck soaking in its beauty and reading good books. We especially enjoyed the entertaining hummingbirds, and marveled how close they would come to us. We were also looking for a home that would work for someone who uses a manual wheelchair, and HH level entry and open floor plan on the main level worked well. Also the master bedroom had lots of room around the bed making transferring from the chair to the bed easy. Getting into the master bathroom was a bit tricky, but my husband was able to jockey my wheelchair around to get in without hitting the door frame. Also, John went out of his way to make our stay easy and comfortable; in the master bathroom he installed a handheld shower head and bought a shower bench and a removable grab bar. I would recommend this property to people with disabilities who can also walk with assistance because there isn't enough room to get a wheelchair into the separate room where the commode is located, and the shower has a slightly raised door ledge that you will need to step over (it isn't a wheel-in shower). We are thrilled we have discovered a wonderful home that will meet my special needs, and we hope to return to its restful bliss again very soon."
