  • Great cabin, great location!

"We had 7 people (4 adults, 3 kids ages 10-11 yrs) at Bears Den during our Fall Break and it was perfect. Asheville was a very easy drive from the cabin and we made a point to enjoy that eclectic city every evening for dinners. Gorgeous hiking locations were very close as well, and we took advantage of that during the days. The trees were starting to turn which made the hikes that much more amazing. We also made many fires in the fireplace, played poker and games and the kids used the hot tub regularly! The cabin's main area is a great hangout area. Everyone had plenty of room and we were all very comfortable. Our families can't wait to return."

  • Great relaxing lakehouse!

"We spent a few days at Serenity on Cedar with family (ages 2-67). The house was perfect in every way. The little kids loved being able to play on the lower level and in the loft! The lake was so peaceful. We rarely saw anyone else on the lake and felt like we were in our own secluded spot. The boats provided by the house really made the trip. We used the row boat, canoe, paddle boat and one kayak. Had a great experience traveling up the lake and we were able to paddle right up to a gorgeous waterfall. A great experience for the kids. The house was well equipped and very clean and well maintained! We will be back!"

  • Peaceful, clean, gorgeous.

"This was the most relaxing place I've stayed in quite a long time and I visit the mountains often. The charm in this cabin from the clawfoot tubs to the Grand fireplaces was perfect. Easy open windows were a hit with all of us and we stayed perfectly comfortable temperature-wise. No details were missed, even a towel warmer rack outside the shower. The river speaks for itself. I slept like a baby with the sound of the water outsode my window. I hope to stay here again soon!"

  • Lake Time Fun!

"We had a great stay the lake house. We packed everything we needed and just enjoyed the lake. Lake Nantahala is very beautiful, quiet, and clean! We did rent a boat, which was brought right to the dock and explored the beautiful lake. Experienced the rope swing, which was a highlight!! The house has plenty of space! We had 5 kids with us and they had a blast exploring, jumping off the dock, and were completely unplugged from electronics! There is wifi, but it isn't enough to stream, which was a blessing for all of us! The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and plenty of space for a few of us cooks. The road is gravel for a few miles to the house, but our Non-AWD cars made the trek without issues. If you need groceries, Andrews, NC is only 7 miles away and the people there are so sweet. There is a great coffee shop in the town, if you need to get out, as well as a large grocery store. The owners have been extremely wonderful to work with and very kind. We hope to return as soon as we can!"

Scaly Mountain Travel Tips

Enjoy Outdoor Activities With Scaly Vacation Rentals

Scaly vacation rentals will put you right in the middle of a mountain region that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Regardless of whether you decide to rent Scaly cabins during the summer or winter months, you can experience an action-packed vacation full of recreational activities.

Scaly's Smoky Mountain Cabin Rentals During Winter

Scaly Mountain has plenty of outdoor winter activities for travelers to enjoy. If you enjoy ice skating and snow tubing, then Scaly cabins will keep you occupied throughout your whole vacation. Scaly vacation rentals even have you covered when Mother Nature doesn't want to provide enough snow for winter tubing. As long as the temperature reaches below 28 degrees Fahrenheit, Scaly Mountain's Outdoor Center can generate enough snow to keep your tube soaring down the mountainside.

Scaly Vacation Rentals During Summer

Smoky Mountain cabin rentals in Scaly even offer dry tubing opportunities during the summer. Summer tubing uses artificial turf instead of snow, so you can rush down the mountain even when it is hot outside. If you are looking for something a little more relaxed from your Scaly cabins in the summer, then you can take a rest while fishing at Scaly Mountain. The Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center can even rent you all of the fishing supplies needed to enjoy a day on the lakeside.

Dining at Scaly Mountain

Scaly is a pretty remote area, so you do not have many dining options outside of what you bring to Scaly vacation rentals or what you pull out of the lake. Luckily, the Downhill Grill serves up a variety of foods around the year. The Downhill Grill will even grill fish caught by their guests. Don't fill up on your catch of the day, though. You'll be sorry if you don't save room for Mrs. Ruby Vinson's delicious homemade pies.
