  • Great Geataway

"Came to this cabin for a weekend trip for a friend's birthday, and we all had a great time. This was the perfect place to relax and have a good time. It is close to lots of things to do and places to eat. The cabin was in great condition and was just as described. The owner, Paul, was very nice. He greeted us as we arrived and also made great suggestions of things to do and places to eat it. We will definitely be coming back to stay here and also would recommend staying here to anyone!"

  • The View!

"Thank you so much for offering us a stay at your house. We LOVED it. There were only 2 of us and our Labradoodle. The house was much bigger than we thought- an excellent value for a family or a reunion of some sort. I have since recommended it to several friends. We were looking at 1-2 bedroom homes that sleep 2-4 people, but this one looked so much more beautiful and was only a little more expensive, so we took it. Great decision. The community of log homes with killer views is amazing. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with every kitchen gadget and cooking tool imaginable. Very clean. Great rustic feel. But our favorite thing was that deck. Wow. Suggestion- better directions. After an 11 hour drive, we had some trouble."

  • A Uniquely Beautiful Cabin with Amazing River views!

"We've rented a few cabins in NC throughout different areas and this was our first time to the Cullowhee/Cashiers area. We had a great time hiking the property and exploring the mountain, roasting marshmallows by the fire pit, reading books and playing games. The family time we spent without cell phones and internet made the best memories of all. We explored a waterfall near Cashiers and hiked up Whiteside Mountain and also rode the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad in Bryson City. Ingles grocery was only about 15 minutes away and we loaded up on groceries and cooked most of our meals. Our 12 year old black lab came with us and was in heaven. He swam in the river even though it was 45 degrees outside! He warmed up by one of the many fireplaces inside. The cabin is decorated so wonderfully in antiques and not a detail is missed. The beds were lined with beautiful quilts, comfy blankets, soft sheets and the most comfortable pillows. This isn't your run of the mill typical cabin found in the mountains. It is truly a gem and we hope to return soon! The owner was wonderful to deal with. He called me after we arrived to make sure everything was as it should be. He communicated instantly by phone or email anytime I needed him. We will definitely return and none too soon!"

  • Nice Little Escape

"Cabin was great, inside and out. The two porches are great to relax on and provide an amazing view. There are a lot of great places nearby (~20 min), predominantly the NOC which provides rafting opportunities as well as a full bar (as it is a 'resort') as the rest of the small city is 'dry', so be sure to buy beer/alcohol on the way in. Another place you can sneak by getting a drink is at PBR (Pizza by the River) which is on the way to the NOC, just a tip in the tip jar and they'll give you a beer. Only thing that can be improved to the cabin would be a more direct path to the fire pit."

Stecoah Travel Tips

Stecoah Vacation Rentals Offer Plenty of Natural Beauty

Ask people why they choose Stecoah vacation rentals over the thousands of other locations that they could pick for their trips, and the vast majority of them will talk about the area's natural beauty. Stecoah cabins are nestled in the Smoky Mountains, where you can choose to enjoy exhilarating outdoor activities or simply relax while you enjoy the scenery.

Reaching the Appalachian Trail From Stecoah Cabins

Stecoah cabins will put you right next to a portion of the Appalachian Trail that runs through western North Carolina. Many outdoorsmen dream about completing this 2,168-mile trail. They rarely find time to spend months hiking the whole trail, but your Stecoah vacation rentals will put you in close proximity to a part of the trail. Spend a day or two hiking along the Appalachian Trail and you will get a sense of what an amazing journey the whole trail offers.

Smoky Mountain Cabin Rentals

Stecoah is located very close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so you simply have to hike some of its trails before you go home. In fact, you might want to extend your stay at Smoky Mountain cabin rentals when you learn that the national park offers more than 800 miles of trails.

Relaxing at Stecoah Cabins

The numerous hiking opportunities will eventually drain away your energy. When you need to recharge, you can choose to spend the day lazing around your Smoky Mountain cabin rental, or venture out of the Stecoah cabins for an easy day on the lake. Fontana Lake and Lake Santeetlah give you the opportunity to enjoy the subtle rocking of the lake water. If you don't have your own boat, then you can rent one from Almond Boat Dock, Alarka Boat Dock, Flat Branch Boat Dock, or any of the other public docks around the lake that have rentals.
