  • Absolutely AWESOME way to spend a vacation!!

"My best friend, of 27 years, and I have a standing ritual to spend the first week of May every year, together with our husbands! Both of our wedding anniversaries are in May as well as both of our husbands birthdays! We all love to ride motorcycles, so we got in touch with the owners and stayed at this incredible retreat for a week! Everything you need is within a short driving distance, but once you get to the house, you'll never want to leave! It was so relaxing and wonderful to be able to take off riding the motorcycles on The Tail of th Dragon and Cherahola Skyway and so on, then come home and relax out on the screened in deck with a home cooked meal! Only to go down to the dock and fish or just sit! The view is spectacular and the whole experience is a pleasurable one! We will definately make this our yearly retreat!! Thanks so much, Jane for letting us share a piece of your Heaven on Earth!"

  • Great family vacation

"My family stayed here in late July 2014. We had a wonderful time! The kids LOVED the creek and they had their own island! Their imaginations ran wild!!! The adults had a blast too watching the kids from the porch and enjoying the scenery. The cabin is very roomy and we never felt crowded. Plenty of sleeping area. Got to enjoy a thunderstorm the first night which cooled off the days for the rest of our visit. As a Floridian, glad I brought warm clothes! Visited Biltmore Manson, hiked max patch bald (part of the AT) and drove the Tail of the Dragon. All of which, were about an hour from the cabin. Rest of the time we enjoyed the cabin. The stars at night are amazing! Want to plan another family vacation but we have more family that want to join after seeing our pics on this trip..."

  • Perfect getaway

"Not much I can add to these rave reviews. I was visiting for "Blue Ridge Breakaway" cycling event, and searched long and hard for just the right place for seclusion, proximity to Waynesville, view, and comfort. This place met and exceeded all expectations. Look forward to my return. Jim St. Louis"

  • Comfortable, convenient getaway

"We had an amazing weekend at the Hideaway - it is convenient and comfortable as described, well-appointed with features and conveniences (bonus points for that pack-and-play & highchair!), and has super friendly owners to boot. Plenty of space for a family or group in a private setting that is close as can be to both the town and great hiking/sights. Highly recommend!"

Stecoah Travel Tips

Stecoah Vacation Rentals Offer Plenty of Natural Beauty

Ask people why they choose Stecoah vacation rentals over the thousands of other locations that they could pick for their trips, and the vast majority of them will talk about the area's natural beauty. Stecoah cabins are nestled in the Smoky Mountains, where you can choose to enjoy exhilarating outdoor activities or simply relax while you enjoy the scenery.

Reaching the Appalachian Trail From Stecoah Cabins

Stecoah cabins will put you right next to a portion of the Appalachian Trail that runs through western North Carolina. Many outdoorsmen dream about completing this 2,168-mile trail. They rarely find time to spend months hiking the whole trail, but your Stecoah vacation rentals will put you in close proximity to a part of the trail. Spend a day or two hiking along the Appalachian Trail and you will get a sense of what an amazing journey the whole trail offers.

Smoky Mountain Cabin Rentals

Stecoah is located very close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so you simply have to hike some of its trails before you go home. In fact, you might want to extend your stay at Smoky Mountain cabin rentals when you learn that the national park offers more than 800 miles of trails.

Relaxing at Stecoah Cabins

The numerous hiking opportunities will eventually drain away your energy. When you need to recharge, you can choose to spend the day lazing around your Smoky Mountain cabin rental, or venture out of the Stecoah cabins for an easy day on the lake. Fontana Lake and Lake Santeetlah give you the opportunity to enjoy the subtle rocking of the lake water. If you don't have your own boat, then you can rent one from Almond Boat Dock, Alarka Boat Dock, Flat Branch Boat Dock, or any of the other public docks around the lake that have rentals.
