"At the insistence of our son, we rented this cabin to get together with our three children, daughter in law, and girlfriend of one of our sons, all who live in different parts of the country. We tried to find a place an equal driving distance for them. We also needed a place fully accessible to our daughter, who is a paraplegic. We were quite pleased with the accessibility of the cabin, a large bathroom with a good shower and a bedroom on the main floor for her. Also, the entrance into the cabin was good for her as well. It was quite roomy for the 7 of us and had a sufficient amount of dishes for our meals. It also had a DVD player for the DVDs we brought with us. The fact that we had no internet was great for us to relax there. It did make us a little anxious that we had no cell phone coverage since our kids all arrived after dark and we were afraid they wouldn't be able to find the cabin on those winding roads. Our GPS gave us some trouble, but they all arrived safely and we had a great time together. It rained all week, but that was okay since we really wanted a place to visit, not to go do anything. It was nice there was a washer and dryer there (with detergent) since my husband and I had already been away from home a week. It was the perfect place to have a great visit with all our family."Guest: Happy camper Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 19, 2014View listing
"We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy little cabin. It is clean, comfortable, and has a top-of-the-line hot tub! There are lots of comfortable places to sit, and the pleasantly noisy creek is great on the porch or indoors with the windows open. The large, flat-panel TV is great for watching movies. All the details are taken care of. The furnishing and the cabin itself are beautiful, and the cabin fits so well into the natural surroundings. You couldn't hear anything at all except the crickets, birds and creek. The owner of the cabin doesn't advertise the trails in her listing, so this is not a criticism of the cabin at all - more a general tip - but the trails (that start right across from the driveway) are rough and not well maintained. They were EXTREMELY steep and slippery in several places (no switchbacks on steep sections, etc.). Many of the directional signs are lying on the ground. We are experienced hikers, and these are not trails I'd like to take again. Again, this is part of the neighborhood, and is not the responsibility of this cabin owner. A wonderful weekend - we will be back!"Guest: Laura J. Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 24, 2014View listing
"This was our second time returning to Hawks Ridge and we cannot wait for the third! The cabin is perfect in every way, with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and a view that cannot be beat. It is meticulously clean, well maintained, and absolutely stunning from the time you walk in the door, until you pack up to reluctantly leave. Watching the "smoke" burn off the mountains in the morning, while sitting in the rocking chair with a coffee, is life at it's very best. We enjoyed spending time in Bryson City and walking the trails at Deep Creek. The Filling Station was the best spot to eat after experiencing the trails and water falls at Deep Creek. There are opportunities to be as active or relaxed as you choose in an outstanding environment The rental process is straight forward with a prompt, friendly response from Nick. Watershed responded promptly while we there, within an hour, to a small water problem and we experienced professional and courteous service from them. I would highly recommend this property for a vacation to remember. . We will be returning!"Guest: JH Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 6, 2014View listing
