"Great spot, amazing view, and easy to get to town and other locations. Very nice for anyone with a dog - protected area, not close to the road and flat area for ball and frisbee.
Able to easily do day trips to Dollywood, Biltmore, and hike from the Folk Art Center.
We would stay here again and recommend for others, clean and comfortable."

"Our family of five just returned from a week spent in this beautiful cabin. The cabin is just as described in the VRBO posting. It is very clean and well stocked with everything you need. We loved the common area where we fished, tubed, and picnicked. The surrounding area is beautiful as well. We visited several waterfalls, the Wayah Bald fire tower (which has a spectacular view), Rufus Morgan Trail, and the towns of Highlands, Cashiers, Franklin, and Nantahala. Lake Nantahala is one of the prettiest lakes we have seen with it's emerald green water. We used the grill at the cabin to prepare several meals and also dined at Motor Co. Grill, which has great burgers! While in Franklin, we visited the town square, the gem museum, and the Franklin Historical Museum, all of which were very interesting. Overall, this was one of the best mountain vacations we have ever had. Our whole family agrees that we would happily return to River Bear Cabin and this area of North Carolina."

"Hummingbird Heights (HH) was the perfect location to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a home with a beautiful view where we could spend time together on the deck soaking in its beauty and reading good books. We especially enjoyed the entertaining hummingbirds, and marveled how close they would come to us. We were also looking for a home that would work for someone who uses a manual wheelchair, and HH level entry and open floor plan on the main level worked well. Also the master bedroom had lots of room around the bed making transferring from the chair to the bed easy. Getting into the master bathroom was a bit tricky, but my husband was able to jockey my wheelchair around to get in without hitting the door frame. Also, John went out of his way to make our stay easy and comfortable; in the master bathroom he installed a handheld shower head and bought a shower bench and a removable grab bar. I would recommend this property to people with disabilities who can also walk with assistance because there isn't enough room to get a wheelchair into the separate room where the commode is located, and the shower has a slightly raised door ledge that you will need to step over (it isn't a wheel-in shower). We are thrilled we have discovered a wonderful home that will meet my special needs, and we hope to return to its restful bliss again very soon."

"The wife and I did a three day weekend on Fontana, and found the lake house to be very nice. It was so clean we were afraid to go inside, but once we got past that, we found a well furnished and adequately stocked home in a fantastic location! We rented a small boat to fish from and enjoyed that, but found that simply fishing from the dock provided great action as well. We would recommend this house, but a week later would have been better for enjoying the color in the trees that had not quite reached it's peak."
