"My family had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. The owners are fantastic and the detail they have put into the home will be obvious from the moment you arrive. The home is impeccable- stocked with everything you can imagine and then some. The views from the deck make you never want to leave. So much to do in and around Waynesville-- the Parkway is only an exit away which provides great hiking, picnicking and a fun day trip to Slippery Rock. Asheville is a quick 25 minute drive if you want to tour the Biltmore Estate or have a special dinner at the Grove Park Inn. However, plan you days accordingly because the home itself offers plenty!"Guest: Wendy R. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 7, 2014View listing
"We simply loved it here. Everything was perfect from the great living space to all the amenities there. It's hard to describe but we felt at home as soon as we walked in. Josie is great to work with and so helpful. The neighbors across the way are also very good but not intrusive. We could not get our rav up the drive but it's not a 4 wheel drive and the extra walk did us good! I would recommend this lovely home to anyone ."Guest: Tessygirl Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 19, 2014View listing
"I thought the River Cottage was excellent! My husband and I stayed there while we were on a family vacation on the property. Majority of my siblings stay in the main house, while my husband and I got the River Cottage. It was very clean and really tasteful decor and the highlight was the running river right outside. We would love to return!"Guest: Austin Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 21, 2014View listing
"The first thing about this place was the ease of working with the owners. Rob was very quick to respond to any questions we had and gave some nice suggestions of restaurants to visit in Waynesville. There are a lot of wonderful things about this place. The location is quiet, and although it can be a little tricky getting there, you feel at home and at peace when you are there. The home itself is extremely well built. You can see they paid very close attention to details and used great materials in building it. The downstairs is very nice with the pool table, wet bar, huge fireplace, TV and full bath. It was about 5 degrees cooler down there, which was nice during the warm days outside. Having a garage is nice if you are there during the winter. As you go upstairs to the main level it is also very nice. The outside deck is very large and can accomodate a very large party, although our party was just the two of us. The living area is also huge and open. The acoustics in there is really nice so when you are playing music or have the TV on you can hear it all over the house. The kitchen was really well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and pretty much whatever you might need, although we were glad we brought our own Keurig. The master suite was spacious and well-appointed. It was easy to see how two small kids could sleep on the window seat because it was very wide. The room had a nice sitting area to read a book or work a crossword puzzle. And the windows that allowed you to look out into the valley was a really nice design detail. There were a few negatives but nothing that would keep us from giving it 5 stars or from coming back. If you are a sports fan and expect to watch ESPN during the fall football season, you won't get it here. The TV in the living room was relatively small for the large space it was in. If you are in the kitchen preparing a meal and want to see the screen it's not easy to see. The TV downstairs is also small and an older model, but again, your not here just to watch TV. The only other thing was the gas grill was left unclean by the previous renter. Not the owners fault. Looked like someone grilled some fish and left the skin on the grill. Couldn't find a wire brush to clean it off. Overall, this was one of the nicest places we've stayed. It's new, it's modern, it's well equipped, and it's the kind of place you can enjoy by being away from it all or you can venture 20 minutes into town and do a lot of things."Guest: Jeff H.
