  • Great place!

"Our stay was wonderful. The house is beautiful and provided a very comfortable place for our time at Lake Junaluska. There's also a great nature trail located right across the street that has lots of beautiful flowers and trees."

  • Fabulous

"We spent two months at this lake house, everything was great. The description and photos of the house are accurate, but do not begin to show the artwork that decorates the walls and hangs on the walls. Even after being there several weeks we would see new things. The kitchen is well equipped, we had everything we needed, even if we had had 20 people there would have been enough dinnerware for everyone. The owner was very helpful; she made sure we had all of the information about the house and recommended many activities in the area. Anytime we called or emailed she replied within a couple of hours if she wasn’t available immediately. The porch is the place we spent most of our time, starting with drinking coffee as the sun was rising over the mountains on the other side of the lake with a light mist rising from the water’s surface. Many mornings there would be a flock of geese swimming through the mist, almost like a surreal dream. During the day the porch is shaded and I spent hours trying to read, I was always distracted by the hummingbirds zooming around like little fighter planes. Late afternoon and evenings we enjoyed wine and appetizers while I grilled our dinner which we ate at the picnic table on the porch. The beds were comfortable, it is quite at night. There is plenty of room for lounging around inside watching TV or playing games. We loved it here and hope to be able to return."

  • Wonderful Vacation Home

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Cove. This location worked out really well for us since it is right in between Asheville and some of the best hiking and waterfalls in the area. Just a 15- 25 minute easy drive to all locations: downtown Asheville, Hendersonville, DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a great grocery store very close as well that has a huge salad/fruit bar, fresh made pizza, sushi, subs, etc. which makes eating on the go convenient without having to have fast food. The house sits up on a hill so it has a nice view and a lovely front porch (with rocking chairs) for morning coffee or evening cocktail. The layout is great with a split floor plan with the master on one side and the two bedrooms on the other side sharing a bathroom...all opening on to the central open living/kitchen/dining area. We both used the wifi for an hour or so of work each day and had no issues with the connection...it was completely reliable! The house was clean with nice furniture and décor. There was more than enough closet and dresser space to unpack and spread out. The master bath has double sinks which is nice if you are accustomed to not sharing. The maps and information provided is also useful."
