  • Breathtaking Lodge!!!

"Upon arrival to this property my family and friends were in total awe at the beauty and location of this lodge. The serene location and extremely close proximity to Ash Cave is unreal. When we walked into the lodge it was seriously breathtaking. It was decorated nicely for the fall season and also smelled like fall. The small details put into the floors and wall decor is unbelievable. It was extremely clean and well kept and the pictures on-line do not do its justice! There is so much to do in Hocking Hills sight seeing and exploring wise. However, I did not have to leave this lodge to have a relaxing vacation. There is so much to do from a large hot tub, 2 fireplaces, game room (so much fun spent there), a fire pit and a gazebo. I stayed in the Master Bedroom where there was a private bathroom. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub that I relaxed in at night, while reading one of the many books available on the property. I LOVED that this property has a reverse osmosis system so we did not have to deal with well water while showering, etc. Our family and friends enjoyed a fun filled relaxing weekend in a secluded location where we watched the fall foliage on the deck, around the fire pit, in the hot tub and from outside the windows. We cooked out one night and the two grills were very convenient. We all sat around the large dining room table that had a beautiful fall tablecloth, while looking at the fall decorations and plants around the common areas. We also watched the OSU game in the downstairs entertainment area while we played pool. We only left the lodge once to go canoeing and even then it was very hard to leave and we could not wait to get back. The morning came to check out and none of us wanted to leave. We made so many unforgettable memories at the lodge that I will never forget. I have stayed in Hocking Hills several times but this location and property takes the cake! I have been spoiled forever and will always return to this property in the future. I would recommend this property to EVERYONE! The owner was a pleasure to speak with and I have no complaints at all and either did anyone in our group. I LOVE the fact this lodge is ADA accessible! I work with individuals with disabilities and this is a perfect lodge for vacation for individuals living with disabilities! It even has an elevator to get to the bottom fun area!! SO AWESOME! This by far was the most relaxing vacation I've experienced thus far!"

  • Great place

"We were all excited up on arrival. Well kept, clean, roomy and best off all, very bright. The kids loved it Since it was rainy and cold outside, we spend most of the time indoor and we had such a great time. The patios are wide and ready for some grill. I highly recommend, already did, this place to any group (family or bodies) if you are looking for charming and affordable place on Lake Erie. We are already thinking of coming back when it is warmer. Thanks Doug for your quick responses to my e-mails."

  • Living it up at the Lake

"Wow! Not sure anything could beat our 3 weeks in this spacious lakefront house. Only 50 miles from home and it feels like another world. Mitiwanga Beach is a great little, private community that offers the perfect environment for family vacation. The lake view from the porch, or anywhere in the house is spectacular. You won't believe the sunsets! Great layout for entertaining guests. Very accessible owners."

  • Wonderful Family Weekend

"Everything you might need is in this home. The kitchen was fully stocked. Paul is the nicest guy you might ever meet. He made sure that we could build a fire down by the lake and only came over to get our payment. Felt very much at home. We enjoyed ourselves so much and wish we could have stayed longer."

Lakeside Travel Tips

Enjoy Ease and Comfort with Lakeside Vacation Rentals.

Lakeside lodgings provide you with the comforts of home without the trouble of a hotel. Your Lakeside rental will give you a full home to enjoy instead of a hotel that gives couple of beds and a cramped desk. These houses can provide the perfect base for exploring all of the various sights and attractions of Lakeside.

You Can See the Best of Ohio's Nature from Lakeside Lodging

Lakeside itself rests on the edge of beautiful Lake Erie. It offers great swimming and sailing right off the town's coast. Just minutes away, you can find the Lakeside Daisy State Nature Preserve, which includes the only natural home of Lake Side Daisies in the United States. Visit East Harbor State Park, which sits just as close. It has numerous hiking and biking trails along with the requisite beaches for swimming and boating. If you're in great shape and feel adventurous, try the four-mile swim to Kelley Island. If you're not in the mood for a difficult swim, a ferry can bring you over so you can grab lunch at one of the fantastic restaurants.

Lakeside Lake Houses Let You Mix Up Your Adventure

Lakeside itself started as a Chautauqua which was a religious education movement from the 19th Century. It has kept up its strong history of education and offers education programs on everything from religious faith and the Civil War to yoga and sailing. You can change pace and, in a short drive, visit the Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, which has some of the best roller coasters in America. If you want to relax close to your Lakeside lodging, the town offers both shuffleboard and miniature golf for a low price.
