"My husband and I have family in Vermilion Ohio. We decided to visit Labor Day week. I went right to VRBO looking for a one bedroom cottage on Lake Erie near Vermilion. My search lead me to Kate's home located in a community called, Vermilion on The Lake.. I called Kate when I saw it was open for the dates we wanted, we confirmed things on the phone and booked our week.
Prior to our arrival I called Kate to find out if there was a fitness center or a YMCA near by.
Kate was helpful and gave me the good news that there was a YMCA five minutes away and a fitness center 10 minutes away
Upon our arrival Don ( Kate's Husband) stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was cozy and has a great patio overlooking Lake Erie with a huge picnic table which was great for the family picnic we had on Labor Day.. To our surprise there was a little country store right across the street , great for last minute ice, soda, ice cream etc... A short walk was a private beach for this little community the cottage is located in... The near by neighbors were very friendly and took some family pictures for our family of 6 on labor day...
Upon our arrival we also found a basket of gourmet coffee and tea packages and some fresh danish... yum...
The bath towels were really big, soft and great for the many showers we took with the hot week we arrived to.. The kitchen had all the things we needed to put together our lobster bake for our visiting family... We even had an a/c in the living area and a separate one in the bedroom. Best of all were the wonderful breezes coming off Lake Erie and the beautiful views... Paul & Doris from the Finger Lakes in New York"

"The pictures do NOT do this quaint home justice. Perfect location and very quiet! We stayed here over labor day weekend and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing getaway! We especially enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch!"

"We are military we came up for a week with our 6 month old and two dogs. Very pet/military friendly place to stay. Very close to the beach it was literally a 2 minute walk . Owner gave us a discount for military appreciation which was very nice of her. The sandbar has THE BEST pizza That was only about a 30 second walk to get there. We had the bad luck of a lot of rain during our stay and left earlier than planned due to rain. Cindy refunded a portion of our money out of the goodness of her heart (she didn't have to and we didn't expect her to since rain is out of her control). Will stay again when we come up to cedar point which is one exit on the highway away from where this cottage is located."

"8 of us rented this house for a scrapbooking trip. Within 30 minutes we had furniture moved to one side and had 10 - 6 foot tables set up (we did have to make a quick trip to big lots to get extension cords for our table lamps and cri-cut machines). Takes about 5 minutes to get to Cedar Point and 10 minutes to get to most of the shopping and restaurants (via a car). We ate at Brick Oven Pizza and loved it (specialty wood fired pizzas). El Patron was also yummy. The first level was all open and made it easy to converse as a group. The view was "spectacular" (water on both sides)! View of Lake Erie from top deck in front of the house and of the bay from ground floor in back of the house. The kitchen was stocked. Downstairs was decorated nicely. Second level bedrooms were a little dated but clean. My only recommendation would be to put up a window treatment in downstairs bathroom... since on the first level it was unsettling to have a clear window with no treatment on the one side. Price is right on this rental :) Definitely recommend."
