  • Scapbooking in Paradise

"8 of us rented this house for a scrapbooking trip. Within 30 minutes we had furniture moved to one side and had 10 - 6 foot tables set up (we did have to make a quick trip to big lots to get extension cords for our table lamps and cri-cut machines). Takes about 5 minutes to get to Cedar Point and 10 minutes to get to most of the shopping and restaurants (via a car). We ate at Brick Oven Pizza and loved it (specialty wood fired pizzas). El Patron was also yummy. The first level was all open and made it easy to converse as a group. The view was "spectacular" (water on both sides)! View of Lake Erie from top deck in front of the house and of the bay from ground floor in back of the house. The kitchen was stocked. Downstairs was decorated nicely. Second level bedrooms were a little dated but clean. My only recommendation would be to put up a window treatment in downstairs bathroom... since on the first level it was unsettling to have a clear window with no treatment on the one side. Price is right on this rental :) Definitely recommend."

  • Perfect Place for Family Gatherings

"We've rented Rock of Ages three times and with each visit, I am as impressed as I was the first time. The occasion for our most recent stay was to celebrate my father's 90th birthday with his siblings (ages 77-89), children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were 29 of us altogether. Rock of Ages is the only home that can accommodate this large of a family without any of the inconveniences of renting a hotel. There's something special that happens when everyone is gathered together in the great room and dining area while others are prepping meals in the kitchen: conversation! Though the home has a number of TVs, none were ever turned on the three days we were there, we were all too busy catching up with one another. The kitchen is a joy to work in with every pan, utensil, serving dish you could want. The beds are comfortable, the linens luxurious, and plenty of bathrooms. I can't wait to return for whatever the next occasion might be! So grateful Marla is willing to share this gem with us."

  • Green Briar Ridge - Absolutely Beautiful!

"My husband and I just stayed at Green Briar Ridge for several days and loved our experience there (some of our kids joined us for the last night of our stay). This home is very private, sitting on 25 acres well off the road. The serene setting was perfect for a little quiet relaxation. We used both the row boat and paddle boat on the lake behind the home, walked the driveway loop around the lake as well as some of the mown paths through the meadows and woods. It is really a stunning place inside and out. The home was more spacious that I anticipated, and was decorated tastefully. The furniture throughout the home appears to have been lovingly chosen; it is gorgeous to look at and very solid, especially the bedroom set in the master and the great room furniture. There are many details the owner has thought of in this home, including the well stocked kitchen, nightlights in appropriate places for kids who might be nervous away from home, bikes for the kids to ride, fans on the porches which help keep the humid air and bugs at bay, and benches to sit on in the bedroom to dress. Typically we find this kind of place way out away from all conveniences, but not Green Briar. It is within 8 minutes of a super Walmart, so getting groceries and finding places to eat is no problem. We had great fun in Roscoe Village, the Raven's Glen Winery, riding the historic Canal Boat, and playing with the kids at the Lake Park Aquatic Center and playground. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat and spending time with nature, but with the necessary creature comforts of a lovely home."

  • Wonderful Owners Eager to Share this Labor of Love with Their Guests

"We just rented this property for a family vacation. My wife and I, two of our daughters and their husbands, and two grandchildren had a most memorable stay here. We rented the entire guest house at the rear of the property. The property is older (built on an old winery), and John and Chrissy are pouring their heart and soul into making it one of the best places to rent on KI. We were close enough to town to enjoy all the festivities, yet far enough away to feel comfortably secluded as we sat on the private beach around a fire each evening. This was our first family get away with the young grandkids. We thought about going to the Outer Banks, but decided Lake Erie might be a better first choice. We are so happy we made that decision. We'll be back again, for sure! In fact, my wife and I are already talking about just the two of us booking there when we need a short R&R. The lower level studio in the guest house is perfect for that!"
