  • Peaceful, relaxing Herndon Lodge on the Lake

"Wonderful week with our entire family. Grandchildren loved collecting rocks on the beach. Our children enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and biking the island. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view of the lake. Our hosts were outstanding - if we needed anything, they would provide it for you. Only thing you need is your food and clothing - everything else was provided."

  • What a view!

"We just returned from a great stay at this cottage. The photos shown are a very good representation of the interior. The other two bedrooms, not shown, one single - one double or queen (can't remember because we didn't use them) are small, but adequate. The bedding and towels were nice quality, and the master was very comfortable. There's a lake view from the master bdrm as well. The bathroom is small, but again adequate with a great shower head! :) The cottage was well equipped and clean. The yard facing the lake was large with no fences between neighbors. There are stairs that lead to a landing with a fire pit on the lake. Nice, but the stairs are a bit treacherous. Just use the hand rail. This property is in a neighborhood and close to other homes, but we did not find this an issue. The landscaping could use a little TLC, but could be the time of year. We would stay here again. Also had a chance to see the 1 bdrm right beside, which was equally nice. Kate, the owner is very accomodating."

  • Living it up at the Lake

"Wow! Not sure anything could beat our 3 weeks in this spacious lakefront house. Only 50 miles from home and it feels like another world. Mitiwanga Beach is a great little, private community that offers the perfect environment for family vacation. The lake view from the porch, or anywhere in the house is spectacular. You won't believe the sunsets! Great layout for entertaining guests. Very accessible owners."

  • Should be named Valley View Estate!

"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful, well maintained house. This is definitely not a cabin in the woods, but a fully appointed, nicely decorated home with an astonishing view of the gorgeous surroundings. It slept 6 adults comfortably, and had all the amenities we could ask for. The owners were gracious and accommodating, and were a pleasure to deal with. The surroundings are well maintained, with nice short hiking paths and other outdoor activities available. Mohican and other attractions were a short drive away, and easy to find. We truly appreciated the owners opening up their lovely home to us, and we would highly recommend it for those who would appreciate such a lovely home. We will definitely keep it on our list of places to stay again in the future!"
