"Located within yards of a rocky ocean cliff, Grey Whales visited within 30 feet of the water edge almost daily. The property was very clean and comfortable. We cooked in most of our stay and found the local seafood markets a great source of protein. The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. We enjoyed the sound of the ocean from our open bedroom windows. We definitely recommend this place to others seeking a quiet beautiful getaway."

"If you are looking for a great Oregon Coast getaway house, this is the place to go! A group of seven of us in our upper 20's stayed here and had a blast. The house is secluded, right on the ocean with incredible views, and a short walk from the beach. It is also a 10 minute drive away from Newport, so you can have a night on the town without a long drive. John and CB are great hosts, and if you need something, they are very responsive. I definitely recommend the Gull Rock House and hope to stay here again!"

"The house is very pretty and we loved the old fashioned detailing of the design. It does sleep 11. the draw back is the living area is too small for that many or even 8 for us with 6 adults and two small children. Not enough seating/space for a large group to gather. The hot tub is nice but the backyard could use cleaning up, some plants or something. I would stay again if it was just 2 to three couples. Just not the greatest fit for toddlers for space to play. Perhaps put a play area in the open space upstairs, like a TV, DVR, games and maybe some board games. maybe day bed/trundle to replace two twins and a chair or two or small table. The third bedroom could use a TV. The upstairs larger bedroom had a tv but the remote wasn't the right one so we couldn't use it. Also the heater in the loft area didn't work, otherwise it's a great private space for guests. The one main problem we had was while getting grandkids down my two daughter were quietly sitting in the hot tub and it was about 10 after 10 pm when the neighbor directly behind came up shinning a spot light on the girls telling them to get in the house, claimed to be a sheriff and he'd call the police on us. My husband talked to him a bit and he admitted he wasn't a sheriff but stated we weren't allowed to be outside after 10 pm etc.. I was in the master putting one of the little's to sleep, the hot tub is directly behind the master and I couldn't hear the kids at all. This mans house is a couple hundred yards down the hill and seriously doubt he could hear the jets or the two young women talking (22, and 24) We had noticed him on and off that day prior outside his home drinking and that eve. we believe he was drunk. Looking at the guest book it appears this has been an issue before. Perhaps this neighbor has a problem with rental units near his house??? He ended up calling one of your mangers and I got a call. By that time it was 10:45pm and everyone had gotten out of the hot tub. It seems sad that guest have to worry about sitting out back and listening to the ocean and enjoying the evening when they are not talking anywhere near beyond a reasonable level. Loved a lot of things about the house. Has a nice assortment of cookware so you can make family size meals. A lot of rental aren't so well equipped with cookware. Decorated nicely."
