  • Great Stay!

"I loved my time at Sea for Two. The unit was nicely furnished, great location and amazing view of the ocean. I would be happy to stay there again on a future visit."

  • Close to Whale Watching, the Bay & Shopping!

"We had such a large group that we rented The Captain's Quarters and one of the Cottages next to the house (same owners as the house). They also let us use a space close by for my parents' motor home. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean, the beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and 2 washer/dryer sets. There are TV's in every room. We could watch the whales from the deck! Shopping is steps away, including Ainslee's Salt Water Taffy, which you could watch them make. A few steps more and you are at the bay, where you can watch the fish being cleaned and sea lions being thrown the leftovers! Depoe Bay is a nice, central location for running to Lincoln City or Newport. Colleen was easy to reach for questions and super friendly. We loved our stay at the Captain's Quarters!"

  • great anniversary getaway

"what a wonderful little place to spend a few nights on the oregon coast. the owners really care about their properties and it shows. everything was clean and organized. there were some extra bathroom items in case you didn't bring something. it is a smaller space so it can easily become cramped if you bring too much stuff (which we did, but we managed to make it work). having the mini fridge was nice to keep some food and beverages cool. the decor was simple but had wonderful character. love the beach themes! there was a coffee pot but when i used one of the coffee pods, it just turned the water into a goldish brown, definitely not a coffee color. there's a pirate coffee company a few blocks away that opens at 7. the parking can be "interesting". especially if all three units plus the house are occupied. it's a tight space. the company in the main house were nice enough to let us park in their spot since they needed to use the one above that was easier for their needs. larger suvs would not be recommended unless you can park elsewhere. it was wonderful to sit on the porch at the end of a busy day and watch the world go by. we were able to see some whales from there on our final night. i think it would be fun to rent out the house (captain's quarters) plus the three little places for a family reunion. it would give everyone their own little space but still close by. it's a great set up. wifi was a no go. however, the point of the coast is to unwind and disconnect from the every day hassles so we were okay with it. let's not forget the very reasonable price. i hope that future guests will enjoy this place as much as we did. thank you schmidt family for this amazing getaway."

Depoe Bay Travel Tips

Depoe Bay Rentals Definitely Make for Great Vacations

Along the Oregon coast, you will find Depoe Bay which happens to be the world’s smallest navigable harbor. It is also the whale-watching capital of the world. When you book Depoe Bay rentals, you already have a good idea of some of the activities you will get to do. Oregon Coast vacation rentals are ideal solutions for the whole family so get started planning your trip!

Whale-watching near Depoe Bay Lodging

One of the must-do activities while staying in Oregon Coast vacation rentals is whale-watching. Any Depoe Bay lodging will lend itself easily to this activity, so plan your excursion as soon as you book your accommodations. The most common whale to see is the grey whale which loves to swim about in the bay. You can whale-watch best from boats out on the water but you may get lucky with the several lookout points throughout the town, easily accessible from most Depoe Bay rentals.

Oregon Coast Vacation Rentals Allow for Beach Activities

When you stay in Depoe Bay rentals, you should definitely plan to make time for the beach. Though it will depend on the weather, the beaches on which Oregon Coast vacation rentals are situated are truly something to see. In fact, you may find that your Depoe Bay lodging choice is on or near the beach, so it will be easy to see the strong waves crashing onto the rocks. The beaches in the area, during good weather, are ideal for family picnics.

Other Things to Do When Staying in Depoe Bay Rentals

When you book Depoe Bay lodging, you may be wondering what else there is to do aside from whale-watching and beach-going. Well, some of the best fishing is off the Oregon coast, so pack your poles (or rent some when you arrive)! You can fish off the docks or even charter a deep-sea fishing excursion for a whole or half day. There are also plenty of wonderful restaurants serving the freshest seafood you can imagine. And do not forget to buy some saltwater taffy during your stay in Depoe Bay rentals!
