  • Great house, great location!

"We stayed a little less than a week in this home with our 3 children (6 years, 4 years, and 20 months). The home has a wonderful layout and our oldest 2 loved staying in the bunkbeds (and loved being able to choose each night if they wanted to stay in a top or bottom bunk!). Our youngest stayed in his pack-n-play in the master closet (seems a little sad I know but we like to keep him close in case he needs something but like a bit of privacy). The house is clean and comfortable. We felt right at home. It is also a VERY quick walk to the beach access. The best thing for us is that the beach access is the closest one to the tide pools at the end of the beach. We had such a great time exploring the tide pools each morning. A couple of things could make this place even better (am I nitpicking, probably): the BBQ while functional is pretty grungy and falling apart, the couch cover could use a washing, and the dishwasher should probably be replaced (or maybe just better dishwasher soap should be provided). All in all though we truly had the best vacation yet in this home. It was wonderful."

  • Great place for two

"Our stay was a lot of fun, really enjoyed the hot tub! Although we couldn't use the hottub til second day, it didn't warm up til then. The place is nice and perfect for a couple people, bed was super comfortable. The decor could be updated but it was still nice. There weren't people staying in the house that shares the driveway so I don't know if that would change my opinion or not. I would definitely stay again, the view is great from deck/hottub! And the owners seem like great people. Can't wait to go back :)"

  • Our New Home Away From Home

"Stayed a full two weeks and loved this home more hour by hour and day by day. This was at least our 30th vacation in Lincoln City area, and by far, this was the best location! So very quiet at night, and especially during the week. Visited by a doe and her fawn, could see bats across the large back yard at night, birds and ground squirrels during the day, and WHALES at end of the street almost daily. The owners were so very helpful and thoughtful, delightful people. They even contacted us to see how we were doing and to let us know if hot tub maintenance people would be around. There are too many special memories from the home to list, but four of the best are: 1) star gazing from the hot tub late at night; 2) windows open nearly 24/7 as looked from dining/kitchen area down to the beach; 3) special reading nook (and book collection) in the loft; 4) such amazing views and sunsets that we always were home at night in time to view the sun's exit. LOVED staying here, and would do it again in a heartbeat. So much better than any condo or hotel we've used in Lincoln City. And, just 1.2 miles from nearest Safeway, and a half hour or so from major scenic points north and south. Plus...beach is near by, or as we did, just enjoy all the views from the house. (Don't miss Otis Cafés breakfasts and breads; Tidal Raves's amazing ocean overlook and foods in Depoe; or the scenic drive along water through forests from behind the Embarcadero in Newport to Port of Toledo; Ocean Foods and seals on the dock are a hit in Newport Old Bay area, and the two lighthouses Yaquina Light/Yaquina Head in Newport; Newport Aquarium and Hatfield Center are amazing; scenic drive through Pacific City and Cape Kiwanda to Cape Meares Light; Blue Heron and Tillamook Cheese factories in Tillamook; and Mo's Shrimp Medley, slumgullion, cheesy garlic bread and peanut butter pie are wonderful. Favorite places: beach walk at Proposal Rock, Neskowin; beach along Roads' End at base of the street near house; Siletz Bay by Mo's.) This house changes from midnight sailing vessels on the ocean to sea spray off high waves to brilliant sunlight during the days. (One NOT leave the blinds and curtains open and any chocolate on the kitchen counters if leaving the house during the day. The afternoon sunlight pours into the home, which is beautiful, but melts anything exposed.) Miss it already, and we've just gotten home."

  • Wonderful house!

"We had a fantastic stay here. The owner went out of her way to make the house available for us at the last minute when another nearby rental turned out to be unsafe for small children. Our extended family of kiddos and grownups were very comfortable here. The big kids slept in the big basement room. There was a gate at the top of the stairwell to keep the little ones in the main living area on the top floor. A big table and a well-stocked kitchen worked for all our meals. The house has a fantastic view from the main living area. We were mesmerized by the ocean from the giant panoramic windows. There's even a handy pair of binoculars at the ready, as well as a pressure washer for the windows' exterior in case the salt in the air builds up a bit and you want to clear your view. Beach access is a short half a block down a sleepy road. The immediate beach area is sandy, and a bit of a walk down the way is a rocky area with tidepools and coves for exploring. The house has the feel of being out of the way, with little street traffic and not an excessive number of folks on the beach, even during a sunny August week. Yet there's a Safeway less than five minutes away by car, as well as all kinds of other shops for anything you'd need. So you get the feeling of being away from it all--yet if you need some ice cream at midnight you can pop down the street and be back in a jiff. The house is clean, well cared for, comfortable, and in a great location. Linda was exceptionally helpful. Would definitely come back!"
