"This was my second stay at this VRBO and was even more lovely than my last. The bathrooms were both newly remodeled and very clean and classy. The attention to detail and the care taken to make this home feel both cozy and tidy is admirable. A very peaceful and a wonderful relaxing get-away and I will be back!"

"This cozy and inviting home was perfect. Excellent location, plenty of room, stocked full of everything needed and then some. There were games and toys for the children to keep them happy as well as coffee and even treats for everyone. We loved the comfy "Big Red Couch" in the evenings. Very short walk to beach and blackberries along the way. This was the greatest vacation stay we have ever had. Only problem we ran into was a sticky door lock. Had to really be patient with it."

"I hosted my family reunion this year and was planning on all activities for Beverly Beach State Park. Since I am a procrastinator I was two days late of booking the large yurt at the state park for our family functions that weekend so I panicked! I started looking on VRBO and saw The Captains House. I live locally and have driven by the house many times, always admiring it! So I contacted the manager of the rental with my needs. She was very helpful and after she contacted the owner with my situation, I set up a meeting with him to see if the property would fit my needs. The owner went out of his way to give me a tour of the home and grounds and it exceeded my expectations! My 3 Aunts who are from the ages of 78 to 85ish do not camp anymore and were going to have to travel back and forth every day 10+ miles each way to join us for the reunion, were so excited to stay at the house and not have to worry about driving back and forth. We greatly appreciated the beautiful home and property! The reunion was success!"

"The Surf Shack is luxury camping at it's best. The views are out of this world, and if you plan to surf at Otter Cove then it doesn't get any more convenient. My partner and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and had sunny amazing weather most of the weekend. Eat/Surf/Hot tub/Sleep Repeat! Here's the deal, if you like to be outside then this is the place for you. The hot tub, kitchen, and living room are all outdoors! The small room is cozy and perfect for 2 to sleep. Everything was clean and ready for us to use when we arrived. And, as stated the composting toilet smells bad. So, if you've got a weak stomach for that kind of thing this isn't the place for you. As we were surfing all weekend we just hosed off outside and used the hot tub in place of showering over the weekend as the shower is also in the room with the toilet.
Things we brought to make this trip super enjoyable for ourselves: our own cooking supplies and dinnerware, a cooler to store our beer and food (there is a mini-fridge too), our own food/spices/cooking oils, 2 camp-style chairs, and lanterns because there is not sufficient outdoor lighting (though we purchased some large bulb holiday lights and left them there for the next folks to use).
Oh- And our dog loved being here with us as well!"
