"It is a nice little house and enjoyed our visit. I love that it was close to the beach and the 804 trail. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the trail.
A couple of things to improve on, would be fix the fireplace so it doesn't smoke, have extra sheets available so we don't have to make our own bed, and I would place the TV in the main living room."

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was spotless.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Very nice place, not fancy but very serviceable. Excellent management staff at Ocean Odyssey.
A few things were over stated in the description. "Gourmet" kitchen was electric stoves, they had a fair selection of pots and pans but nothing gourmet about it. It also listed a BBQ but that was two tiny old round charcoal grills. The house has a capacity of 30 and the grills have a capacity of about 6. Fortunately we found this out in advance and brought our own BBQ equipment.
Overall it was a very nice place, everything worked and everything was clean and the location was great.
Manager responded on 7/7/2014:
Thank you! We are working on getting a bigger BBQ or two there."

"We loved JJ's Beachhouse!
The home was spotless, the beds very comfortable & it was stocked with everything we needed.
The location was amazing!! Just down the steps & you could sink your toes into the sand.
You could walk along the beach & often not see a soul. We found sand dollars on our walks each morning & afternoon. The sea gulls liked to beat up to the sand dollars & peck the centers out of them!
It was chilly during our visit & foggy alot. We even had a fire in the fireplace one afternoon to take the chill out of the house. Seemed weird to be cold in July!! However, we just bundled up & still enjoyed our walks along the beach.
We could walk the other direction towards the rocky cliffs & at low tide it was unreal beautful to see those tidal pools.
The tidal pools are wow!!!
We were out there every morning at low tide & saw so many starfish of amazing colors. Once, we stood in a spot & counted over 50 starfish! Plus, crabs, little fish, urchins & all types of sealife.
We usually walked back along the Coastal trail that was right down from the house. The view from the trail overlooking the beach was beautiful.
I just can't say enough about the location...Tidal pools, coastal trail & sandy beach all just steps away!
We did a whale watching tour in Newport & loved it. Was cold out there but was so neat.
We loved the sea lion caves also.
We also did a jetboat tour at Gold Beach after we left here. Highly recommend that! We did the whitewater trip & saw bears, river otters, harbour seal, deer & bald eagles.
Heidi's Italian in Yachats was our favorite dining place. It was totally delicious!
We highly recommend JJ's beachhouse. I'd say it is as perfect as it is possible to be....a beautiful home & a awecsome location!!
Thanks for a perfect vacation.... we hope to return again one day!"

"This home worked out very well for two families of four and the upstairs living and dining room delivered with a stunning view of the rocky shore and north up the coast line. I would stay again, and will recommend it to others.
Its located in a very nice spot on the coast trail. Its not far from town, and its adjacent to the Adobe and Overleaf lodge amenities.
The house is spacious enough that our two families could all sit together for meals but escape to separate areas of the house as needed.
The management service was good, but had no reason really to call. Things were clean and ready for us when we arrived.
Minor comments, but would not keep me from coming back;
1. The 50 gallon hot water tank requires some thought to shower and bath timing. For a house this size I would add another 50. Once a couple of cold showers happened we figured this out.
2. Some of the upholstered furniture in the living is probably nearing the end of its life relative to the quality of the home.
3. The window hardware is rusted out (as happens so close to the salt water). It was quite cold while we were there but these all need replacement. Management said this was being done in the near future."
