"My sister and I chose this cottage to rent and we are so incredibly happy that we found it. The cottage is located on a low bluff with a very short trail to the sandy ocean beach. The grounds are beautiful with a large variety of flowers & plants and it feels very private. The cottage was super clean, the beds are very comfortable, there is everything you would need, and the grounds are very well maintained. We enjoyed walking the beach on a daily basis. The sunsets were stunning and the air was so fresh. It was wonderful to go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean waves. We were not far from the nearby towns of Waldport and Newport which we enjoyed visiting. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we definitely would want to return. In fact, we dreamed of owning the property and want to be first on the list to contact if it ever goes up for sale. I truly hope I have the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you for having such a terrific rental. Just wonderful!"Guest: Karen Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 28, 2014View listing
"Was able to stay in Keystone's condo A Bit Of Heaven. This condo is beautiful, immaculate, spacious and decorated very tastefully. We had all the amenities you could possibly want including puzzles, which we also enjoyed. The ocean views were spectacular. We saw whales, a seal and several creatures that looked like porpoise all from the deck and living room. We were hoping to see a storm while we were there and we saw one with waves that were as high as the second floor. What an experience. There are several restaurants conveniently located near the condo. One we really enjoyed was the Rave Waves (in think that's the name). We were within walking distance of several other wonderful points of interest, to many to list. I would and have recommended this coastal getaway to my friends and family."Guest: LisaB Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 2, 2014View listing
"My husband, two sons, my parents, and I enjoyed this house immensely! The house was even better than it looks in the pictures. It was very clean and well stocked. It is close to the cute little town of Yachats. The view is fantastic...if we were any closer we would be wet! A wonderful time was had by all. The owner was terrific and did everything she said she would do, when she said she would do it. The refundable deposit was refunded very quickly and without me having to ask for it. We will definitely be back!"Guest: Kelly K. Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 5, 2014View listing
"Seacliff Loft was everything and more than we could have wished for. From first impressions to being sad to leave it delivered in every way; decor fresh, clean, well maintained - living space set up perfectly, loved the idea of the bean bag footstools - kitchen very well equipped nothing at all missing, all in great shape - bedroom light and airy, lots of space, very comfortable bed, good quality bedding, so quiet I slept like a log - bathroom spotless, lots of hot water - great to have the washer an dryer. I honestly can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time at the loft, so wish had the funds to buy it, can't imagine how the owners can bear to part with it. The weather didnt cooperate for most of our stay, but we still braved the mizzle on the balcony to watch the odd whale here and there - spectacular! and when the sun did come out it was heavenly to sit and dream about if only this was home. Thank you so much for sharing your place! Of course a mention for Keystone - there when we needed you before traveling - gave us all the information we needed, but trusted us to take care of the loft - perfect!"Guest: LHelen Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 11, 2014View listing
Central Coast Travel Tips
Discover Oregon’s Coast
Oregon’s coast is regarded as three areas, each with its own distinct character and features. The North Coast extends from the Columbia River to Neskowin, the Central Coast is from Lincoln City to Florence, and the South Coast covers Reedsport to the California border. It covers the counties of Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, western Lane, western Douglas, Coos and Curry. It is well served by US Route 101 which runs the length of the coastline and provides breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The drive down this road alone is worth the trip. Other major roads such as US-20, US-30, US-26 also provide access, as do State Routes 18 and 22. Visitors here can choose from delightful Oregon Coast cottages to make their home base for a fantastic vacation.
Three Distinct Regions, One Perfect Place
The North Coast features long stretches of unbroken beach and large bays enclosed by sandbars. Astoria is the main city. Along this delightful coast are also the cities of Seaside and Tillamook.
From Lincoln City to Florence, the Central Coast has fewer beaches and more cliffs and bays. Charming small cities such as Depoe Bay, Newport, Waldport and Yachats are scattered along its coast.
The mountainous South Coast is distinct because of its cliffs and miles of beaches. Here, visitors will find small cities such as North Bend, Coos Bay, with oceanfront rentals, as well as vacation homes in Bandon and Brookings. The area is known for its forests of myrtle, redwood, Douglas Firs and northern pine.
Million of Years Spent Creating the Perfect Vacation Spot
Wherever visitors to Oregon Coast vacation rentals choose as their base, there will be plenty to occupy both days and nights. There are a variety of museums along the coast, such as Tillamook Navel Air Museum and Flavel House. Also worth a visit is Yaquina Lights, the lighthouse at the mouth of the Yaquina River. One of the most impressive sights to see is the Sea Lion Cave. It is the largest sea cave in the world, 25 million years in the making. It is now the height of a 13-story building and it is as long as a football field. If that isn’t spectacular enough, visitors can also watch the sea lions go about their daily lives. Whales are also spotted here. If visitors don’t manage to spot a whale, they are charter boats along the coast offering whale watching and sport fishing. Visitors will find the opportunity to walk under the waves through a 200-foot tunnel, making for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Come face to face with sharks, rays and thousands of species at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. To learn more about the area, visit the History Center here. To see animals from across the world, take a trip to the Wildlife Safari where animals from Africa, Asia, South America and North America roam freely over 600 acres.
