  • Very Clean and Modern Home

"We enjoyed our weekend stay tremendously. The house is very modern and clean and is quite comfortable all around. The hot tub was a big highlight as was the location. Everyone staying for the weekend loved their rooms - rave reviews all around. I would definitely stay here again."

  • Wonderful vacation!

"As other reviews have mentioned, the house is fantastic. We had two families of four, with four of those being teenagers (and two dogs!), spending Spring Break Week in the house. The full kitchen, game room, home theater, hot tub and space to spread out over three levels was perfect for our group. Between the adults and the kids, every amenity was used (including the Ping-Pong table in the garage.) The location was a big plus as well: right on the river, yet convenient for walks via Sawyer Park, close to downtown and shopping/groceries. A few points about the house and Bend - - Downtown/Old Mill District: We drove downtown but if you had your own bikes/helmets I believe it would be a short ride on the river trail. The house has a few bikes but no helmets. Also, the adults did an afternoon Bend Brew Bus tour, with the house being located in the pickup/drop-off radius. - North End/East Side: Very short drive to a north side mall (Cascade Village?) Recommend looking for Pono Farms butcher shop in that area if you plan to use the grill. A bit farther than downtown is the East side with Costco, Safeway and such. - Lava Lands/Sunriver: A relatively short drive to Newberry National Volcanic Monument and Sunriver. Maybe another 30 minutes or so from there to Paulina Peak, Newberry Caldera, and the Obsidian flow. - Smith Rock: This was about a 45 minute or so drive from the house for some great hiking and views. As a last point, we had some minor issues that Rick was very quick to come out and address. Overall, it's a nice retreat if you're looking to stay in or a great base for exploring. We recommend it -- it's the first place we'd consider on a return to Bend with a group that size."

  • Best location for a Bend retreat!

"Location couldn't be more perfect. Walking distance to downtown, a stones throw to multiple breweries, 20 minutes to snow and a back porch right on the river. John was a great host. We will be planning many more trips back to this comfy home."
