  • SHHHH...A Best Kept Secret!

"My husband and I make an annual summer pilgrimage to Bend, and this is our favorite place to stay. The number one criteria for finding a good rental home is the commitment that the owner has to its guests. This owner fills that description to at "T." Although the kitchen was lacking a few small household items, he immediately reimbursed us for replacing them. The home was immaculate, clutter-free, and very quiet. We rode our bikes to downtown Bend, and were just 5-15 minutes away from every possible convenience. The West side includes a vibrant Northwest Crossing community, coffee shops, restaurants, bike trails, Shevlin Park (a treasure), and plenty of upscale grocers. Appliances and electronics worked very well. We could tell the owners maintained the home nicely. The home would be totally complete if it had a hot tub. I hope the owner will consider installing one. Otherwise, this is a GEM. But don't tell anyone! We want to rent it again next year."

  • Elegant, modern house in BEST location in Bend!

"My husband and I spent five days here over our anniversary in October. We've stayed in 4-5 house rentals in Bend and this has been the BEST, hands down. The location can't be beat - literally steps to the Newport Market, a 5-min walk to several of Bend's best restaurants and cafes (Chow, Backporch Coffee, trendy Spork), a 10-15 min walk to downtown and also to popular 10 Barrel brewery (and The Lot, a great pod of food trucks - with beer!), and a short drive to NW Crossing, which just opened a branch of one of our favorite bakeries in the entire world, Sparrow Bakery. It's also just a 5-10 min drive to gorgeous Shevlin Park which is filled with aspens and dog-friendly running/hiking trails. We ran there every morning. The house is just as incredible as its location. First, it's super eco-friendly and the architecture is unique. The materials are beautiful including the polished hardwood floors and the stone (river stone?) doorknobs. Second, the overall layout works really well for privacy and space if you are traveling with a large family or several couples. There are two levels and the staircase leading to the second floor divides the second level into two very separate areas - one with the MBR and HUGE bathroom and the second with two smaller but lovely bedrooms, a full bath and a washer/dryer. Third, the downstairs living area is very comfortable. The kitchen looks brand new, was fully stocked with everything we needed, and had lovely finishes and high-end appliances. It would be a great place to entertain. Finally, it seems very dog friendly (yeay!). We didn't bring our dog on this trip but would do so in the future. A lot of rentals are more what I'd call "dog tolerant" but this one seems truly "dog friendly". The only two downsides are the stairs (if you or your dog have any problems with stairs) and also that the yard is on the side and is small, though it is fenced in. There's a reserved parking spot (not really needed in Bend but appreciated) in the back and even though the house sits on busy Newport, noise was not a problem. The house does not have views. Brian, the owner, was great to work with - very responsive and friendly, so BEND! We especially liked that the house is keyless - we used a four digit preset code (that we chose) to enter the yard and the house. Overall ,we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan to stay again on a future trip."

  • Amazing location and perfect couple getaway

"My husband and I stayed in this fantastic rental for our late October anniversary. We have a tradition to stay in Bend every year and I hope we never have to stay in any other rental. This place truely is close to downtown, but enough off the main drag that it's quiet and relaxing. We are fans of all the great beer that Bend has to offer and this place is walking distance (5 minutes) to several of the best ones. Otherwise, it was very central to the other spots we wanted to drive to. My husband couldn't stop gushing about the granite and upgrades. (He's a nut for that stuff). It is in the basement of a three story building but the business above didn't seem to be open on the weekend, so it was very peaceful. I definitely recommend this place and we hope to return next year!"

  • Great location, great place

"Stayed for 4 days while on ski trip to Mt. Bachelor. The 3 BRs each with a bath was fantastic! and one has a fireplace. The house is really comfortable. We cooked every night, kitchen was fully equipped and having a dishwasher was great. Location is excellent. You are a short drive to the mill district and wall st area, and in walking distance to 10 Barrel pub and other local places. Karen was a pleasure to deal with as well. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat."
