  • Great for families, lots of space

"This house and location were perfect for our multi-family winter vacation. The bedrooms are large and have comfortable beds. The kitchen and livingroom are wide open with lots of space for everyone. The upstairs bunk room was a perfect place for the 4 kids under the age of 8 to all play and sleep w/o disturbing the adults too much. Enjoyed watching the stars from the large outdoor hottub every evening after skiing at Mt. Bachelor which is about 30 minute drive. The ping pong and foosball in the garage were fun for the kids and adults as well. Certainly recommend this place for other large groups and families with kids."

  • Family from San Francisco, San Rafael and Napa

"We really found this property to be extremely pleasant and user friendly. Sleeps 18 people easily with Kings, Queen , twins, bunk beds, etc. We all fit in very well (17). Special Hot Tub(double size). Local managers are terrific and will respond to any situation or difficulty with the unit. Great for all ages and families or 4 couples and children, etc. Passes to the recreation areas are available. Pickleball, tennis, golf, biking, hiking, fishing , white water rafting, and nature visits are all there. Lovely village nearby with good restaurants, etc. Our first visit as a family but we will probably book again for next year. It is preferable to have a car or be a bike enthusiast."

  • Great House! Lovely location!

"Our extended family stayed at the house for five days of skiing on Mt. Bachelor over Winter break. The house is very comfortable (there were three adults and one child age 7yrs) We had lots of room to spread out as the house can comfortably accommodate many more people. It is conveniently located to Sun River resort (all necessary conveniences can be found here; food, rental shops, pizza & burgers and great caramel corn at the candy shop!). It is about 20 minutes to Bend which is a pretty town with a lot to see; we took a tour of the Deschutes brewery (all ages are invited) and the High Desert Museum. The Redmond airport which we flew in and out of is very nice and about 45 minutes to/from the house, we were able to rent a car here. My husband and I hope to return in the Fall for fishing-there are LOTS of options and guides to lead you there. And Melanie the owner of the house was fabulous to work with and help with our questions."

  • A Perfect House at SunRiver!

"When a group of college friends wanted to schedule a weekend together at SunRiver, we looked for a house that was a good value AND nicely equipped. This place exceeded our expectations. It had absolutely everything we wanted: a big, inviting table with plenty of wine glasses and nice tableware, comfy beds, excellent BBQ and hot tub, plenty of comfortable seating in the living room for our group of 8, cozy gas fireplace and adequate parking near everything we wanted to access. The SHARC passes were a bonus, there was plenty of parking and it was the best value we found in SunRiver. Rent it, you'll love it!"

Private Homes Travel Tips

Water, Waves and Wonder: Sunriver Cottages

It seems the most unlikely of destinations: the Sunriver community (a private resort established in 1969) is centered within Oregon, kept far from the Pacific and its beauty. Travelers craving water dismiss it therefore, believe no waves can be sought within the mountain ranges -- the Cascades and volcano remnants. Land is all they assume to find. But there are discoveries to make among the sagebrush and ponderosa pines, and Sunriver cottages allow those discoveries to be wet ones.

Oceans Conquered: Sunriver Vacation Homes

Beaches are tedious. Seeking water on holidays has always been a dull experience -- battling crowds for even an inch of sand, sharing every wave with wild children and their frazzled parents. And then you had to endure the grueling drives back to your hotels, surrounded by paper-thin walls and far too many families. Sunriver vacation homes offer less exhausting afternoons. All water is instead kept within the resort, can be reached simply by stepping from your front door; and private rooms, modern luxuries and spacious accommodations ensure returning will be a comfort (not a concern).

Oregon Ease: Rivers, Lakes and More

Convenience is the desire for all vacations -- and Sunriver cottages allow this to never be denied. Seek out the Marina, which offers canoeing and swimming. Kayak down the Deschutes River and its many inlets. Take a shuttle boat to Benham Butte for picnicking and exploration. Enjoy one of the three available Olympic size pools. Discover the Big Obsidian Flow nestled at the base of Paulina Peak. And be amazed by Crater Lake and its depths of 2000 feet. The variety is endless beyond Sunriver vacation rentals.

Summer Triumph: Northwest

Defy the expectations of the season: ignore the traditional beaches for a far better thrill. Let Sunriver vacation homes offer the water you've been wanting.
