"My husband and I were really ready for a chance to decompress and have a relaxing vacation. We thought it would be fun to stay somewhere close to Sunriver, OR, since we had good memories from the past staying there with family. Coming across the VRBO listing for the Bear Hut was a gift. The property lived up to all the pictures and amenities, with one exception. There had been a mix-up about the availability of Internet service. We had a nice talk with the owners, and they said it had been available before, and they were checking into having it back again. The house was very clean and comfortable in every way, decorated with a wonderful bear theme throughout. It was only a mile and a half from Sunriver (easily reached by the bikes provided with the house). We could walk, bike, play games, watch TV, enjoy the wonderful wildlife outside the windows or use the house as a base for excursions to nearby lakes and trails, etc. We had a fabulous time, and we'd love to go back in the future! The Bear Hut is a terrific place that we highly recommend!"Guest: Jerry'sGirl78 Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 25, 2014View listing
"Our entire family met in Sunriver for a vacation. We loved staying at 5 Butternut. It was close to everything and very comfortable. Yes there is the train, but the children loved the train and it only came by once a day and certain days not at all! The house had everything we needed. Adults and children were all comfortable - Wifi for our computer dependent ones and great afternoon naps for those who were trying to get away from work! Looking forward to returning next year!"Guest: Kelly Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 15, 2014View listing
"The house exceeded our expectations. It was a quiet location at the end of the street. The back porch was something we enjoyed every evening, after exploring the local area. We loved putting some steaks on the grill and relaxing on the porch listening to the wind in the trees, with a good beverage in hand. The house was in very good condition, clean and comfortable. You will love sitting in the hot tub in the evening after a long day. We will definitely make a return trip."Guest: SbrownInBoise Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 21, 2014View listing
"This house has a good layout for a large family or more that one family vacationing together. The house was very clean. A nice perk was that it is very close to a little store...just about a block away."Guest: Virginia F. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
Other Sunriver Properties Travel Tips
A Summer Perfection: Sunriver Cottages
Centered within Oregon -- tucked along tectonic shifts and cinder cones, the echoes of volcanoes -- is Sunriver. This private community (established in 1942 as an army training base before eventually being redefined as a resort in 1969) is Deschutes County's most appealing attraction. Travelers seeking summer thrills will find them easily among the forest miles; but such thrills will be offered in grand style with Sunriver cottages. It will be a season of easy grins and easier comfort.
Adventures, Near: Sunriver Vacation Homes
It's an all too familiar scenario: you're craving the excitements of a town, want to experience all hours; but you're instead forced to endure the long miles. A hotel has trapped you far from your wanted adventures, makes you drive on and on until they can finally be found. This marks all days dull -- and Sunriver vacation homes wish now to ensure it doesn't happen again. These luxurious rentals (which offer spacious quarters and modern conveniences) keep you close to all pleasures. Distance will no longer be an enemy.
Attractions Await: Oregon
It's an all too easy thing to be tempted by Sunriver cottages -- their appeal is endless and their amenities are many. Just beyond them, however, is the sprawl of Deschutes Country and there's much to see. Explore the trails of Mount Bachelor. Let the Lava Lands Visitor Center educate you about the unique geology of Oregon. Seek out the 50,000 acres of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Find breathtaking sights along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway. And travel from Sunriver vacation rentals to Crater Lake National Park for dramatic peaks and ponderosa forests. All days will thrill.
The Season of Ease
Sunriver vacation homes are the rare guarantees -- allowing all travelers (including you) to discover the pathways and ash-trails of Oregon. It's a summer experience that will not disappoint.
