  • Perfect place for a relaxing vacation

"Our choice to stay at the Palmer House, "Gracie" turned out to be the perfect space. What a wonderfully bright clean place with big rooms to spread out and cosy sitting areas to relax. Loved coming home after a delightful ski at Anthony. Plus only a few blocks to walk to the brewery for dinner, and wine bar. And if you dig on kitchen stores you won't want to miss the one downtown. We give "Gracie" an easy 5 stars for comfort, location and cleanliness. Can't wait to come back and stay again."

  • A Great Vacation Spot

""Wapiti Cabin" turned out to be a delightful home with an outstanding view of the Powder River. The "cabin" was neat and clean and equipped with modern appliances as well as a complete supply of quality dishes, cooking utensils, and silverware. The cabin's custom made king size beds and dining room table were very impressive. During our stay we visited Baker City and made the short drive to Haines for dinner at the Haines Steak House, but mostly we just relaxed at the cabin. My wife worked on her quilting and I fished the river. We spent a fair amount of time sitting on the porch enjoying the peace and quiet and admiring the view. The abundant wildlife, ranging from numerous bird species to mule deer browsing in the yard, certainly added to our enjoyment. Thanks for a great stay. We plan to visit Wapiti Cabin again."

  • A cozy home in a great small town for a great price!

"We used this house as a Spring Break getaway for 4 adults and 3 kids. It was perfectly positioned to visit all 3 of the units to the John Day Fossil Beds. The owner was great and called the house while we were there to make sure that we were checked in and that we had everything we wanted. The beds were comfortable and there are 2 newly remodeled bathrooms. It was nice to have a fully functional kitchen. We took advantage of having access to a BBQ and enjoyed walking to the Dayville Cafe and Merchantile as well as a nice park to turn the kids loose at. The Cafe has the best Chicken Fried Steak we have had in a long time! We recommend this and would happily stay there again if we visit the Fossil Beds another time."

  • The perfect getaway!

"If I could live there, I would! This is about the perfect location to get away from the world. All the conveniences are available, but there is almost perfect seclusion from the outside world. No visual contact with another structure from the house, and only the most infrequent of sounds from the rural road nearly a quarter-mile away. There's a hot-tub, and a modern kitchen, and all-in-all very comfortable accommodations. You can bet a month of sundays that we will return."
