"This is a great getaway just an hour from the Portland area. The cabin is super cute and well-curated. It has a timeless air about it and feels like you're in a story book. The grounds are great as well, with touches of imagination and whimsey everywhere you look. The house has an amazing position on Clear Creek, with no neighbors in sight.
Despite the Viking stove the kitchen is small and more whimsical than practical, so don't plan on any extravagant meals. There are lots of utensils, although mostly of the rental house quality. Having said that we did just fine and had some great dinners out on the deck.
The bedrooms were perfect and my wife loved using the clawfoot tub. There is a nice fireplace and good collection of books. There were a few things that needed looking after, like the grill with it's broken knobs and the molding seat covers outside. The other downside was that the yard has many construction projects going on (wiring, stone work, etc) and although they were mostly unobtrusive it did seem to take away from things a bit.
The Stuga is a real find and I hope they are able to put the finishing touches on it; we would love to go back!"

"When you open the door to this lovely cabin you see a stunning wall of glass looking out to the river and forest, then you find all the games and the well-equipped kitchen. The best VRBO we've ever had. My favorite part of the 4 days we spent here was sitting on the benches overlooking the river reading my book and listening to the rapids.
If you're not a book person, good to know that the wifi worked all the way out there. Highly recommended"

Perfect combination of rustic and comfortable style
"This was our second stay at Camp Festivus--it's so comfortable it's like staying with friends who have everything on hand needed for a cabin get away. This was a family reunion trip for us and everyone loved it. There is enough room for privacy as well as group activities. The kitchen is a great combination of rustic charm and modern function. It's clear the owners have put their heart and soul (and lots of style) into the restoration of the cabin. Very special."

"fantastic 3 nite stay july 2015....the biggest problem we had was deciding whether to sit on the spectacular deck and watch the river run....or jump in perfect hut tub....or chill inside on the 2 couch, one love seat or comfy big chair. 2 days were excellent weather so deckside. in between a good day but with massive thunderstorm which lead to a fun filled inside day. and dammit if i won't be looking for the same furniture for my home this week.....THAT EXCEPTIONAL. Kitchen was modern and stocked. beds were the best possibly I've slept on and my guest works for a mattress store and owned one....and said the same. bedrooms were immaculate, cozy and each w/ tv, altho only used once as they have a new big screen in front room. had several email exchanges w/ the owner and she was available and very "ON IT". very organized to a fault...she really thought this all out well. already booking another short stay and later a week w/ extended family. Cant wait. thanks kathy again!"
