  • Perfect for High School Girls Reunion

"My three friends and I graduated from a small high school and each year choose a place to get together. We have done this for 25+ years and this was the most comfortable and beautiful place where we have gathered. It is so quiet, near hiking to Salmon River, to town of Welches, golf at Resort at the Mountain or just plain relaxing. A book club I belong to has met there for two years. It's a wonderful place for getting together and having lots of time to visit, read or just hang out."

  • It was just what we hoped it would be

"The cabin is woodsy, comfortable, clean, and friendly-feeling. You have to pay attention when you're on the stairs leading up to the second floor because they are narrow and a little uneven, but visually they are great. The business side of the rental transaction was smooth; no issues at all. We will definitely be back."

  • Relaxing Get-away

"Kathy's Kabin gave us the much needed relaxing vacation we were looking forward to all year. The kabin had everything we needed and then some. Wi-Fi kept us connected to family; we watched movies (we brought them) and found Kathy has a huge list of DVD's if we needed them. The downstairs bedroom with the high ceiling was mesmerizing when it rained on the roof. So peaceful. We are a group of knitters and made progress on a few projects. Unfortunately there was no snow this year as we are also a group of cross-country skiiers. But we made the best of it and hiked the places we would of skiied. The hike around Trillium Lake on a clear sunny day was awesome. Especially when Mt. Hood is visible across the lake. We were able to drive right up to Timberline Lodge and snowshoed up Mt. Hood in the sunshine. Just outside the kabin are quick hikes along the river and we found a trailhead to Flag Mt. which gave us quite the workout. The hot tub sure was welcomed. I highly recommend this kabin and all the different sleeping arrangements it offers. The amount of bathrooms was perfect for our group. Kathy was accessible by email (or phone) for questions or concerns. We were well taken care of. We are hoping to try the kottage some day."

  • Flawless experience!

"It was my turn to host Thanksgiving this year so I thought we would all (twenty family members) stay at one place instead of hotels. Maple River Retreat was everything I could ask for! It accommodated us all comfortably with ample room to cook, play and just relax, there are beds for 16 not 20, but this was not a problem because some folks brought air mattresses. When we ran low on wood to burn Becca promply restocked us, even on Thanksgiving day. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Resort at the Mountain (I would recommend it). Some of my family members had never been to the NW and needless to say they were speechless with the beauty and the retreat! Becca thankyou so much for sharing this wonderful house I would not hesitate to come back!"
