"The property was easy to find with the directions provided. The location is convenient to Hoodland Thriftway (they have groceries, beer, growler fill station, and a DVD rental machine!) and other restaurants along 26 that we did not try. The immediate property has road that curves around it, but it is well forested so the property still feels private. The road had very little traffic, we enjoyed going for a walk down the road.
The property itself is primarily on the upper level. We found the furnishings to be completely adequate and in good order. The TV is an old tube model, but works well (not blurry or dim). A flat-screen LED would be a nice upgrade, but we watched movies just fine in the tube TV. You're not there to watch TV the whole time, after all. The lower level was notably cooler than the upper level, but it was tolerable. The bar area is VERY cool and would be perfect for a pool table... but works quite nicely in it's current form with the game table there.
The overall cleanliness of the unit exceeded my expectations, especially for a "cabin" type of rental. The jacuzzi was clean and was chlorinated at the high range of what I would reasonably expect for a unit in use by the public. There is NO light out there, except for some plug in lamps that really aren't appropriate. I high recommend either a higher quality plug-in unit or having a light fixture added. It was also very hot (104*F), we turned it down and let it cool off before using it.
We enjoyed going to Little Zigzag Falls, the Wildwood Recreation Site, Mt Hood Brewing Co, and Timberline Lodge. It was nice for our group to be able to come back, cook dinner, play cards, and relax with our books after each day of exploring the area.
I would come back. 6 people can be accommodated here comfortably, especially if a couple or two is in the group to stay upstairs in the two primary bedrooms. This is the kind of place I imagine enjoying in the future, when both us and the couple we travel with have children that are old enough to hang out downstairs in the bunk beds and game room area after a day of hiking and playing, and the parents can sit upstairs and read."

"We loved this house, very quiet and definitely out in the woods, but it was perfect, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Because of the drought there was hardly any water in the river, but that didn't spoil our time at the house. Highly recommend it"

"We truly enjoyed our long weekend for Memorial Day in this beautiful home and will most assuredly be renting this house again. From the moment we arrived, it was apparent that the owners had truly attended to every detail to ensure a relaxing and joyous stay; those special touches made this wekeend an unforgetable experience and were appreciated by all. I feel that nowadays there are few pet friendly homes that are fairly priced making it difficult to escape on a budget. This house is absolutely beautiful and has it all and the price is very reasonable. The forest setting is a natural and serene sanctuary, allowing you to let all your worries drift away with view and sounds of the river from your bed or the hottub. I loved being under a canopy of tall firs. The house is very comfortable and has an charm and intimacy in all of the common areas and each bedroom. The kitchen is fully stocked and quite modern. We enjoyed ping pong and just relaxing around the house or sitting along the river. Fully socked with games, movies and wood for a cozy fires both inside or in the fire pits. Close to the market and wilderness adventures close by and in every direction. Thank you for a most memorable retreat and we look forward to our next visit. The owners are attentive and highly responsive by email."

"This place is amazing a wonderful home from home. There is so much to do in the areas around or as we did relaxed and enjoyed a peaceful weekend. The pictures for the cabin don't show enough of just how amazing this place is. Although it was just me and my wife we are looking forward to booking in the future and bringing the family along. The rooms are beautiful and everything is fitting in it own way. My wife couldn't stop talking about how adorable the place was. The hot tub was that little extra special ad on. Everywhere is so clean and presentable. Kathy is a lovely person who is so helpful and really wants her guests to have the best of times there. We can't wait to visit Kathy's Cottage for our one year anniversary. Thank You so much Kathy for letting us stay in your dreamy cabin."
