  • Great find!

"Loved our stay! This home is well maintained, clean, and the decor is attractive. The kitchen is well equipped. The description is accurate with the exception of sleeps 10. I think six adults could sleep comfortably here. The master bedroom on the main level is exceptional with a private bathroom and walk-in closet. We really appreciated having access to the activities at the Resort at the Mountain that is within easy walking distance from the house. We took advantage of golf, swimming, hot tubbing, tennis, putt putt golf, and the workout facility. I would definitely recommend this property."

  • Cute Forest Cabin

"This cabin was the perfect spot for a city get away. Everything was excellent about the cabin, and it had that wonderful homey feel. It was a great bonus to have multiple fireplaces, and a very nice hot tub set up. I would definitely come back."

  • Blissful

"My daughter and I and our dogs just had the most blissful, relaxing, comfortable late-fall getaway ever at this perfect little cabin. The cabin looks rustic, but the amenities are extraordinary. Warm, beautifully furnished, wonderful bed, perfect tiny kitchen with nice pots and pans for cooking, if you desire. The front of the cabin faces the pretty yard and creek, and the beautiful woods. Our first day was spent on hiking trails, exploring the forest right in our front yard! Mt. Hood village is less than two miles away - there is a great supermarket, coffee/espresso place, a few restaurants, and even a bakery. Mt. Hood and its world of recreational activities is very close by. Doug and Barbara were extremely gracious and helpful, and their gorgeous dog Jed is a sweet, gentle giant. I would give it 6 stars if I could!"

  • wedding overnight

"We needed a family overnight to hang out before the big day of a family member. Great times with badminton for the family. Went to the river and saw a 4-point buck crossing. Great times for the opportunity and short-term stay. We went to the mountain and got sno-cone supplies as well as smores at the local outlet as well. Do not miss Mt. Hood Roasters in Rhodo if you need some Java any morning."

Welches Travel Tips

Welches Vacation Rentals Provide Forest Access

Mt. Hood National Forest covers over sixty miles of woods, rivers, streams, lakes, valleys, and peaks that make for a nature lover's paradise. Step outside the door of your Welches vacation rental and inhale the earthy scents and listen to the call of jays and the rush of the Salmon River at the edge of this expansive forest. Within Mt. Hood National Forest, you can hike, backpack, mountain bike, fish, boat, camp, hunt, and even pick berries or gather mushrooms for eating back at your Welches lodging, all among wildflowers and canopies of leafy trees.

Skiing Is Superb on Mt. Hood

Mt. Hood is the highest peak in Oregon and boasts the only year round ski resort in the country: Timberline Lodge. Mt. Hood Meadows and Summit Ski are other good ski and snowboard options, and if you're a fan of hitting the slopes under the stars, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl offers a large night ski area. Some of the four ski areas close to your Welches vacation rental have ski lessons so even beginners can take advantage of the powder. Return to your Welches lodging for a warm drink and a snack, and enjoy your private fireplace. Snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, and cutting your own Christmas tree are other winter activities that make Mt. Hood cabins fantastic all-season destinations.

Golf on a Gorgeous Green Minutes from Welches Lodging

Foxglove Resort at the Mountain in Welches is a challenging par 36 set of fairways lined by forests of pines and in some places, the Salmon River. Foxglove has been around since the '20s, and features water hazards, elevation changes, and a difficult to overcome boulder on hole number one that makes even the most experienced golfers sweat. Come for the challenge and appreciate the scenery. Equipment rentals, restaurants, and fitness facilities, are available as well.
