"My husband and I brought our golden retrievers with us for a beach get-away in April and it was perfect for us. The dogs loved lounging on the deck but also hanging out downstairs where we played Ping-Pong. To walk to the beach there is a convenient and safe tunnel underpass so you can avoid the highway. The beach is not crowded and every bit as nice as the one a few miles north; you can find caves, waterfalls, and the famous "hug point." The strategic location between several state parks and resort areas makes it a winner and the price is much better than nearby places that are directly on the beach. The house itself is very comfortable though older. Having 2 levels, each with a kitchen, and 3 baths makes it nice to share with another family though we had the whole thing to ourselves. The deck is a real plus; nice view of the ocean waves."

"My partner and I just finished our second weeklong stay here, and we could not be happier. We started our day with Barbara's wonderful breakfasts, and looked forward to the remainder of our day in and around this beautiful area. Walking on the beach, strolling nearby Cannon Beach and the newly revitalized Astoria, or simply lying next to the fire to watch the winter storms. The accommodation is a wonderfully rustic and cozy place. The kitchen is stocked with enough equipment to cover your culinary needs. The settee by the large window was our favorite perch. Barbara and Jim have a wonderful library (with an impressive collection of local history), a well stocked game cupboard, and wifi access.
Our many thanks to our gracious hosts for providing such a wonderful atmosphere. We have decided to make this our annual retreat!"

"We had a wonderful experience at this Arch Cape beach cottage. The space is clean and inviting. The owners bent over backwards to make our family and dogs feel comfortable. Nice furnishings, comfortable mattresses, close beach access, and beautiful outdoor spaces make this a place we will frequent."

"Had a wonderful time on the OR coast. Lodging was clean and comfortable and we were able to do what we came to do...walk the beach, rest, and shop. Easy access to beach (short walk to Sally's Alley). And while not a deal breaker for consideration on my next visit, a few caveats: (1) the house is actually located 6 miles south of Cannon Beach central, b/c who really cares that it's 4 miles from S Cannon Beach. That's residential and downtown is where it's at. (2) there are no lounge chairs as pictured, but rather cheap, plastic ones (with no foot rest). Not a deal breaker, and maybe it's only a summer thing, but don't be surprised. (3) There are two (2) sets of rules sheets, with varying instructions. Go with your best judgement. And lastly, Wifi never showed up on the list. There is a free Wifi, but the one on the sheet was nowhere to be found.
Again, I would consider it for my next visit, because I liked being far away from town and didn't mind the daily hike along the beach into the center. The area is ideal for quiet and rest, and maybe in the summer even some sunshine. We had grey skies all 4 days. AAAAAhhhh, Oregon."
