  • Cozy Coastal Beach House

"This home is such a great place to stay in Cannon Beach. The location of the house is close enough to the beach and a short walk to all of the the Cannon Beach stores, cafes and restaurants that you can arrive within an hour from Portland, park your car and enjoy all that Cannon Beach has to offer. The house has a great layout with the 3 bedrooms downstairs and a great kitchen and living room upstairs. The light from the outside and smell of the ocean with the windows open make it a relaxing getaway. Ecola State Park is a short drive away ( 10 minutes) with some of the best hiking on the Oregon Coast. Indian Beach at Ecola is where the pirate ship scene in the Goonies was filmed. We love staying at this house in Cannon Beach and look forward to many more relaxing nights on the coast."

  • Our Beach House Favorite!

"This summer was our second time in Manzanita and our 2nd stay at this lovely home. The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and has a wonderful location a very short block to the beach. Everything is well maintained. The first time we came our daughter was 11 months old and just learning to walk. This time our son was 10 months old and just learning to walk. This home will forever hold such wonderful memories for me with my "babies". They kids absolutely love the ships berth beds! Our daughter, now 3, slept in them and they made the perfect "toddler" bed. Our 11 month old loved to crawl back and forth on them and play. We had cozy bed time stories as well. The fireplace is great and works well. The decks are lovely. The location is perfect. Close enought to the beach and town yet quiet and restful. The home furnishings are a little dated but clean and comfortable. To me, it added to the coziness of this home and warmth. LOVE this home and hope to come back again. Love Manzanita too."

  • Good value, great location.

"Decent house in great location, close to beach and town. Good yard for dogs with closed in fence. Took us too long to finish all the laundry on the morning of departure but overall we had a nice relaxing stay."

  • Amazing view, amazing stay, but....

"Three sisters, our families, and our parents stayed here over father's day weekend. The other reviews are all very accurate, the place is amazing, but there are some important factors that I wanted to make others aware of as one is a fairly significant safety issue. Our group included four children aged 11 and under and one toddler. Each floor has very high ceilings, and by the time you reach the top floor you are VERY high off the ground. Neither of the doors on the two upstairs master bedrooms have locks. On a sunny day the top floor gets very hot with all of those gorgeous windows. The style of doorknobs are the lever style, and our just-turned-two year old figured out how to open them on her own in no time. There are no child safety devices available on ANY of the upstairs windows, and with doors that don’t lock this is a recipe for disaster- as we nearly experienced with our toddler. I’d ask the owner to please explore options for adding doors that lock, and adding child safety devices to the windows, as child window falls are more common than you’d think and completely preventable. Plus, this place is otherwise so family friendly I am sure that they get lots of kids staying there. The only other points of note were the slightly lacking kitchen (well worn silverware, dishes, glasses, and no slow cooker), a coffee maker that kept inundating our coffee with grounds, only one DVD player that we could locate and it was not blu ray, and the bedding arrangement downstairs is slightly different than what is stated here on the VBRO website. This website alludes that the downstairs beds may be sofa sleeper beds, but they are in actuality very comfy regular style beds. The distance from the sand ended up not bothering us at all, and other than the window scare that kind of ruined the first day we really did have a lovely time in this stunning home. Our family will probably stay here again and just prepare for stay a little differently."
