  • Idyllic Condo when you need to get away

"I was looking for a new experience on a recent visit to Portland to see my daughter. She had been to the Coast once and loved it while I had never been. Based on her comments we decided a nice weekend getaway would be the perfect way to enliven our get togethers. After a few hours of searching for a rental condo I came across this particular unit- close to the beach, reasonably priced and not stuck in the main tourist areas. Well our trip turned out perfectly - beautiful weather (clear skies and mid 60's during the day), incredible scenery and sunsets and the perfect condo to wind down our days! First: Condo was exactly as the Poctures and reviews describe it. Two comfortable bedrooms (master was the best), nice bunk area for kids, great kitchen set-up with table and/or counter seating and a very comfortable family room next to the kitchen area to keep every connected during the meal times. Condo had every conceivable amenity: nice towels and bedding, washer/dryer (didn't use so no comment), TV's in each room as well as the family room. Selection of movies (family friendly), a fully stocked kitchen (stove, oven, toaster oven, frig) and all the utensils and cooking items you could want. Fireplace worked very well (wood is available at any of the local stores - Fred Meyer had the cheapest). Stores were no more than 3-4 miles away so we always hit them on our way back - did not eat at any of the local restaurants although there seemed to be a nice selection. Beach is literally a three minute walk from the back door (but not visible from the condo - so be aware if that is essential). However, I do not feel that we missed anything by not having the beach view and you can't beat the price for what you get. Beach runs 1/2 mile south towards Seaside and then miles North so plenty of opportunity for walking. You are a ten minute drive to all of Seaside, 30 minutes to Astoria and Cannon Beach which also have great sights and hiking. Highly recommend this property - owners keep a clean well appointed unit and we're easy to deal with. I would definitely return if I get back to the area."

  • Awesome house for a bunch of people!

"We had 10 adults and 2 children and none of us felt "trapped" in the house even though there was a brief rain storm. Our friends, 4 more adults and 3 children were staying near by and they stopped over for a BBQ, we hit maximum capacity and it was cozy but there was room. We didn't get to enjoy the property because of the rain, but we are Oregonians so we still golfed!"

  • Regular visitor to Oregon coast

"We visit the Seaside / Gearhart area in Oregon on a regularly, the Barn is now a favorite location. We really enjoyed our accomodations and as well, property owners Bob and Lori were very nice. They often asked if there was anything we needed, we really enjoyed talking with them and have breakfast at their resturaunt the Firehouse Grill - great food. The gardens at the Barn were beautiful and well maintained, we used the gardens as a back-drop for my nieces graduation pictures. We highly recommend this location."

  • Wonderful 4 day visit!

"My family just returned from a four day stay at this house. We had 6 adults and 5 children, ages 4-12. The house was well equipped with games, lots of beds for sleeping, as well as a well stocked kitchen and pantry. We did some unplanned cooking and were pleased to find everything we needed in the pantry (which we replaced before leaving). The beach nearby is now my favorite Oregon beach because it is very long and relatively un-crowded. The house also had clamming shovels and buckets, giving us our first clamming experience. Checking in and put was made easy by the owner's clear instructions. It was a very enjoyable experience for us all."
