  • Great Port in a Storm

"Despite the incredibly windy and rainy conditions, our group of 6 adults had a great time in this home. The views from this home are breathtaking. It wouldn't have been the same if we weren't right on the beach. Even though the weather kept us inside quite a bit, the wall of windows facing the roiling waves kept us entertained the entire time. We walked to Pelican Brewery and to the local coffee shops, but otherwise, we brought food to prepare ourselves in the well-appointed kitchen. There was plenty of space for our group and we were all able to spread out and relax. Shawn was a very accommodating and welcoming host. Stormy weather or not, I'm excited to return to this property in the future."

  • Stunning views, warm and cozy home

"Our family enjoyed a lovely 3 nights at Whalen House, and though the early spring weather was hit and miss, we didn't care. A lovely, rambling place with enough room for my two daughters, four grandsons, and my husband and I. Though the stunning view through the expansive windows in the living area is the draw, I also particularly loved the dining area off the kitchen, next to the rustic little gas fireplace under low ceilings. Much like I might dream the inside of an Irish pub might look. My husband and I were treated royally by getting to use the attached, yet separate apartment with our own bathroom. We all watched movies, sang songs, and went 'shell'fishing. Thank you so much for a very memorable time."

  • Such a cozy, wonderful vacation home

"We rented this home for 4 days in April and enjoyed a very relaxed vacation. Jeff was so helpful with the reservation as I had never rented before. The house was warm and inviting. I loved the decor with all the special touches that a home near the beach could offer. The house was clean, well maintained and so comfortable. The beach was beautiful and the sunset on the beach was gorgeous. Haystack rock was just to the left and I got some great pics. There were tide pools full of starfish and other little creatures just to the north on the beach. It is a pleasure to recommend this home to others who want a fun, beach vacation."

  • Just What You Would Hope For

"This is a well-cared for property, well-situated and well-equipped. The style and furnishings are simple and neat, with a cottage or slightly rustic feel. It is comfortable but certainly not luxurious or posh - just what you would want for a family visit. Pleasant collection of art and books adds warmth and character. Nice beds and some antiques. The layout is very convenient and seemed very spacious and uncrowded for the 5 of us, and 8 would have been just fine. The kids enjoyed the pool table/ping-pong table. The back desk is open to a wide meadow of beach grass with enough space to the nearest homes to lend an open feel and some privacy. It is an easy walk to the beach and Pelican Pub. . The Kiwanda Shores development has nice homes, is spacious, but not a neighborhood feel. Reminded me of Sunriver."
