  • Fabulous location for special event with friends!

"This is a wonderful, warm vacation home. Easy to find in daylight. Very clean. Ellen the manager, answered all our question quickly and was very friendly in all our communications. The house is so comfortable and all the special touches, art work and local novelty items were great. The views and easy trail access were great amenities. The hike to the beach is a little challenging, great exercise and well worth the trip to access the dunes, the beach and over to the Pelican Brew Pub. One evening we had a very pleasant fire in the indoor fireplace. Loved the campfire/wood stove in the backyard for get together's while chatting and watching the parasailers catch the winds! Loved the concept of the wood stove with the chimney pipe for a fire pit, for anyone who has ever spent time around a campfire being chased by the smoke, this is a wonderful solution! We are now looking for an old wood stove to set up in our backyard! The kitchen was well supplied, handy appliances and a good selection of spices and condiments. We had a fabulous weekend at the house and plan to stay again. Highly recommend this home."

  • Stunning views, warm and cozy home

"Our family enjoyed a lovely 3 nights at Whalen House, and though the early spring weather was hit and miss, we didn't care. A lovely, rambling place with enough room for my two daughters, four grandsons, and my husband and I. Though the stunning view through the expansive windows in the living area is the draw, I also particularly loved the dining area off the kitchen, next to the rustic little gas fireplace under low ceilings. Much like I might dream the inside of an Irish pub might look. My husband and I were treated royally by getting to use the attached, yet separate apartment with our own bathroom. We all watched movies, sang songs, and went 'shell'fishing. Thank you so much for a very memorable time."

  • Family Beach Weekend

"We have always loved Pacific City but staying here made it over the top! Loved the house and location. We happened to be there on Dory Day to experience the parade which our 2 granddaughters loved. The weather was beautiful and we found more of a secluded area of the beach with little streams that they could play in and where we didn't have to deal with the multitude of crowds. Fires on the beach were amazing. We loved climbing the sand dunes and our dinner on the patio of the Pelican was awesome on Sunday night. Not as crowded on Sunday and our granddaughters could play in the sand while we sat there with family and cocktails waiting for our dinner. The Innisfree home was so comfortable and perfect for everyone. It was very well equipped from the kitchen to the kayaks and bikes. The home has a lot of character and we loved the electric fireplace for cozy mornings and late evenings. The big sun room which brought in a ton of sunlight was awesome for playing games. The home is only a couple of blocks from the beach and our granddaughters could ride their bikes around the cul-de-sac . Always a lot of work when you bring the family to the beach but well worth the fun and memories we made there this past weekend. We definitely will be staying here in the future."

  • Wonderful home

"This home was wonderful! It was very spacious, clean, and well maintained. As mentioned in other reviews, there are LOTS (seriously) of towels, dishes, silverware, glasses, cups, spices, coffee/tea, soaps/detergents, shampoo, etc. There are beds, not counting rollaways or couches, to sleep 17 people! The game room was a big hit with our group of teens, and they spend many hours having driving, shooting, and pinball competitions. The pictures on the listing are 100% accurate. We were there over the holidays and they had even put up a Christmas tree and some decorations! Being in the second row of houses back from the beach was no issue at all. You still have a great view of the ocean and haystack rock, and you can watch the folks climbing to the top of the dunes. (Some of the homes in the first row actually had a worse view because the wind had piled up sand in front of them.) We saw many seals playing the water, and even spotted a few whales. The beach access is literally right in front of the house. Phyllis was incredibly easy to work with. She always returned emails and phone calls promptly and you can tell she is just a nice person! We checked out on Saturday, and I received my security deposit in the mail on the following Wednesday. Wow! I have rented many homes and never got my deposit back so quickly."
