  • Paradise!!!! Truly a "gift by the sea" :-)

"My 50th Birthday could not have been spent in a more beautiful home...Thank you Jeff and Ana for opening your lovely beach house to me and mine. Everyone who came in the afternoon/evening for dinner (Friday) were absolutely floored by how perfect your home is and how it has the comforts that not every vacation residence can offer. Saturday was spent with my significant other and I doing nearly zero. Peace, quiet, and serenity is what we shared and felt...enjoying every minute. If there are visitors coming to the Oregon Coast, A Loafers Paradise is exactly where they will want to be!!! Room enough for 12 (easy)...cozy enough for 2. With large sleeping rooms, an immaculate well equipped kitchen, a fantastic fully finished basement game room (with laundry area), and an open great room/dining area, families will make lasting memories here to be talked about for years to come!!! Thank you again for such a lovely "gift by the sea"....I will be coming back many times I am sure ;-}"

  • Amazing Family Getaway

"When your children are grown & everyone has their own busy schedules, it's so hard to get quality family time together. After this Summer, I made the decision we needed to regroup as a family, & after "MANY" possible dates thrown out, we found 3 days that worked. I knew I had already found the perfect Beach House to rent, just had to get the days. Working with Ken was so easy. He was so accommodating & helpful. By the end of the process, I felt like I had a new friend. This isn't really a Beach House. It is a Beach Home that I felt so lucky to have found & to be able to rent. When we first walked in I almost called out 'Hello' because it has such a personal & homey feel, I felt for sure Ken was going to walk out of the Kitchen to welcome us. There are some beautiful oak antiques, a vintage white metal stove & andiron. My favorite was the big Claw Foot Bath, I so miss my nightly 2 hour baths. The house consists of a cottage & a very large addition over the garage(actually 2 huge floors) This addition had a more contemporary feeling so you got the best of both worlds. The Game Room became Family Central for us. With a Pool Table, Air Hockey & a Foosball Table, plus comfy sofa & carpets & TV what else could you need, how about an Ocean View, check that too. I loved the Vintage Kitchen, although, I must admit, I didn't cook too much. This was our Dog's first Beach trip & she loved it. Although she went up the wrong stair case & was briefly lost. The fenced yard was great. As was the outdoor shower. We can't wait to go back again. I can't wait to take my Scrapbooking group there as it is so spacious & has 2 large tables already there. We met the neighbors across the street & they showed us their A-Frame, 20x20, they proudly told us. Also borrowed a wine opener from Jerry, another neighbor. That's why this feels so much like a Home. It's not a cookie cutter beach rental. It's a Wonderful Home in a Friendly Neighborhood where we felt totally safe & comfortable & a hop, skip, & a jump to the Beach. We really liked that it was at the North end of Seaside, which tends to be quieter, yet walk a few blocks & you're back in all the action. We would recommend this Home to families, Girlfriend's Getaway, it would be an AMAZING Scrapbooking Retreat House, or Church group. Until the day we left we were still finding neat little things about the house. Thank you again Ken! BEST TIME EVER"

  • Tripple wow!

"When we checked in I was a bit unsure what our room would be like as the front office has a stale cigarette smell, and some "fresh smoke" is present as well. The owners were so very pleasant and ready for us, that i was quickly able to "wave this away" and then we walked through the door to our room... wow, wow, wow!!! What a beautiful, cozy and comfortable place. Think country seaside charm without being at all touristy smaltz. Lovley view of the dunes and ocean, a compact kitchen well supplied and with a nice updated look. The bed was super comfy and there was a nice laminate? floor so no carpet, yeah!! Everything was super clean. Our only complaints, if any, were that the wicker chairs are not to comfy for sitting around in, and that left only the bed, and that since the shower is short, a handheld shower sprayer would be nice. Hubby had to scrunch quite a bit to get under the water. Neither of these issues were a big deal at all, and everything else was so awesome, these small quirks were easy to overlook. Loved having the flat screen tv (in a lovely armoire btw), and the electric fireplace in the corner added to the cozy atmosphere...in short, everything was absolutly wonderful, they even have a little pair of binoculars for whale watching and there were chilled water bottles in the fridge. I liked that this property did not feel at all like a motel room. I definitely will stay here again, and recommend it to friends."

  • Truly wonderful

"My husband, son and I wanted to get away for a spontaneous weekend trip to the coast. The cottage was easy to find and close to the beach while still secluded from the typical tourists bustle. The kitchen was large and comfortable with lots of charm and a distinct personality. The living room was, as my son put it, "just perfect! now can I watch tv?" My husband would have "happily paid a nights stay at Scouts cottage" for the hot tub alone. The cottage had all the luxuries of modern homes (dishwasher, laundry, etc) while still feeling like a cottage by the sea. This meant I got to relax - spend time with my family, play board games, go to the beach and find constellations in the night's sky. All in all a wonderful experience. The biggest complaints I have 1- one of the burners on the stove was a bit finicky (but as it is a 6-burner I, you know, used one of the other 5). 2- the hot tub takes a while to heat up. and 3- the master bed is a bit lumpy (but no worse than the one I stay at when I visit the in-laws). We will most certainly be returning!"
