  • Great Lodge in the Woods

"We recently stayed at this property for five nights while touring around the area. My husband had chosen the lodge not only for the great price but he thought it looked really homey & comfortable. We were very surprised when we drove to this secluded spot and found this huge comfy lodge. Not only did we love the privacy the short walk to the beach was enjoyable. The lodge it self has lots of room for everyone to have their own space but still very cozy. We loved it. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were very comfortable and the linens were very nice. ( I like really good towels & linens) Over all I have already recommended this property to friends and would definitely rent it again. It's such a quiet spot a hot tub would be a excellent addition to enjoy the nature all around you. Thanks Darrell , we really enjoyed our stay."

  • Amazing weekend

"We spent the weekend in Rockaway at this incredible house and was 100% satisfied. The property was more than we had expected and it made the weekend that much better. The owners have done a great job furnishing the house with everything you will need to have a family gathering, both inside and out. The kids played on the beach, while the adults relaxed on the patio. We look forward to our next trip to Rockaway, and would recommend this home to everyone."

  • Extraordinary Retreat

"Eagle's Nest is an amazing getaway. Set high in the trees, with a view of the ocean, it is a place of beauty, peace and contemplation. The layout of the cabin is good for people with children as we are (not younger than a well-informed 4 year old though without supervision due to steep stairs in the cabin, and cliffs outside), or a small group of friends, as 4 people can gather together in the living/kitchen area, then each retreat to their own corners, some high in the loft under the skylight, some cozy down below, both with their own bathrooms. This would be a perfect couple's retreat, or even a one-person getaway, if that person was searching for quiet and rest or a place to be alone to write. The Eagle's Nest is clean, meticulously maintained, and well equipped for a weekend trip. If you are bringing in food, be aware that the fridge is small, but the kitchen is well stocked with pans, dishes and utensils. You can walk from the cabin to the beach in about 10 minutes. Close-by is the community of Manzanita full of shops and touristy beachy wares and restaurants (be prepared to pay high tourist prices!). In the cabin there is a thoughtful list of nearby restaurants that we should have exclusively stuck to, as when we strayed from the recommendations we were gouged a fair bit. We did especially like Rising Star Cafe, located a reasonable distance away in Wheeler, with good food, outdoor seating and very friendly service. Then there is the beach. Our favorite spots were Hug Point, and Short Sands Beach at Oswald State Park, both located within 15 minute's drive from the cabin, but there are plenty more places to explore nearby along the vast coast. Everywhere we went on our two day vacation was breathtakingly beautiful. Coming back exhausted and chilly, it was simply magnificent to light a fire at the Eagle's Nest and rest for the night. We did not run into the owners personally, but the communication with the property manager by email and the information left for us in the cabin was thorough, pertinent, and thoughtfully prepared."

  • Most Amazing Beach House Ever!

"If we were going to own our own beach home, this would be the one. It was absolutely perfect. Clean, well-decorated, well-appointed, gorgeous and just what we were looking for. For the first time since having kids (9 years ago), we had a real, relaxing vacation. Amazing view--we sipped wine and watched the sunset every night from the deck. Walked into town for ice cream every day. Absolutely the best for a family of 4 (kids 6 and 9). We can't wait to come back for another visit!!!"
