  • Living large in the dream....

"This is our second visit to Portland in a year....and we could think of no nicer place to stay than here at Sellwood. I am writing this review, from a very nice queen sized bed, looking out at the Columbia River. The accommodations are wonderful and hosts are very nice, Oregon style!"

  • Wedding Week

"We came to Portland for our son’s wedding. Along with a beautiful wedding and wonderful time here, this was one of the best stays ever in a vacation rental. The home is clean, well equipped and had plenty of room for all the family staying there. It met all of our needs! We entertained groups of friends and family, and had plenty of serving dishes and party essentials to host events. The only thing lacking were bigger cooking pots. We had to borrow larger pots to prepare some of our meals. The neighborhood is beautiful, peaceful and friendly. There are some wooded trails close by for easy exploring, which was nice for the two little boys in our group. The furnishings were comfortable, and there was no lack of seating. Having the downstairs was great too, because we had small children traveling with us, and this gave them some place to have quiet time. We made use of both kitchens and it was wonderful having 2 washers and dryers along with enough bathrooms for easier sharing. When contacting the owners for anything we needed they were gracious and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a large place to gather, we loved it!"

  • comfortable country like feel

"This home served us well for a family reunion/wedding. Mardy was accommodating to our needs and attentive but not intrusive. Having a base for family to gather to visit was wonderful. The home was clean and spacious for the 7 of us, plus visitors. The location was easy to find and accessible to the routes we needed to use. We were very comfortable and would not hesitate to recommend this place to others. It met all our needs easily."

  • A comfortable and homey cottage

"First, thank you Tim for providing a wonderful place to get away from the traditional motel/hotel experience. To begin with, Tim presented as hospitable, flexible, and expedient in arranging my 3 night stay. I contacted him with only one day notice, and he sent an email within an hour after contacting him. He was very good at providing information and staying in contact through email, and when I called he picked up to answer my questions. Tim is a great host, and I enjoyed his affable personality. PROs of the cottage: After a long day of driving, it was such a pleasure to enter the cottage that felt comfortable and homey compared to standard hotel rooms. This is a versatile place, which could fulfill the needs of a romantic get-away, or a small family needing a break from the city. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioner was sufficient to keep the bedroom cool. The sunken jet Jacuzzi was roomy and comfortable for two! The kitchen had sufficient dishware and pots to cook a meal. There is a large area around the place that is well kept, which is ideal for kids to play and provides a country feel. CONs of the cottage: If a person is looking for a polished and perfect cottage, then this place might not be a fit. There is some wear with over use, such as the fridge door making a popping sound when opened, but it closes fine. At night there is some road noise from passing cars, albeit the obnoxious sounding types, which can be heard and could affect light sleepers. I ranked this place five stars because the overall package is a great experience. When I inquired about the barbecue, he made sure I had everything I needed to use it. When I asked Tim if he had bikes to borrow, which he said he did not have, he indicated that he might purchase some in the future. I appreciated his attentiveness. Although I did not meet his wife, I imagine that they are great team in making every effort to make a stay at their cottage a memorable one."

Learn to Skate Like a Pro near Portland Rentals

Many professional and Olympic skaters either started or continued training in the Lloyd Center Ice Rink, found in the mall near Portland lodging choices. Go for an afternoon shopping trip and decide to spend some time on the ice learning a few new moves. This rink is open year-round to locals and visitors to Portland rentals. Some plan a stop here during their Portland travel to simply enjoy a meal while overlooking the public skaters below.
