Recent Portland Metro property reviews

  • Great location in a great neighborhood.

"Just spent 4 nights in NW Portland and loved this neighborhood. The house is just steps from trendy NW restaurants, pubs, and shops. The Portland Trolly stops close to the house. We flew to Portland and were able to take the TriMet and trolley to the house, a car is not necessary. The house is well built and is great for one family or for couples, each bedroom has it's own full bathroom. There's a great deck out back too. I can't wait to go back."

  • Wonderful Home and Location!

"We loved staying at Hawthorne House! It is a home with wonderful character and mostly wood throughout thus good for our allergies. The beds were average and could be improved. The large living room was wonderful for our large party. We walked most places and enjoyed the nearby restaurants and shops. We did have to call the owner to help with getting in the home as we lost a key. He came over quickly and let us in. We would definitely return to Hawthorne House and hope to do so when visiting Portland again."

  • Review

"Great house and location. Beautiful scenery, lots of room. Only drawback is that the information states walking trails off the property, there is not. You have to walk down a very winding, and sometimes busy road to get to the logger's trail. Otherwise, excellent choice would stay again."

  • We spent a wonderful month in this lovely home in the Sellwood/Moreland area!

"This location cannot be beat, with restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, a movie theater, a park, a library and so much more. We highly recommend Fat Albert's and Renee's Cafe for breakfast. We also enjoyed dinner at the Oaks Bottom Pub and Cha Cha Cha. It was a wonderful area to walk around and check out the architectural aspects of the homes. Our son and family live in Portland so we were able to spend some quality time with them and be there for our granddaughter's first birthday. The bungalow is older, but beautifully restored in the original style. The rooms are painted with beautiful, soothing colors and the details such as pictures and decorations are perfectly suited for the house. The beds are wonderful, which is not always the case in a rental home. I have back problems and was nervous about a month in another bed but the mattress was perfect and I didn't have any problems with my back at all. Our daughter and two grandchildren came for a visit and our grandson had a ball in his "man cave" downstairs, complete with bunk beds, futon and a TV. The basement is large and friendly, with the one bedroom and another large area where the washer and dryer are and also a grouping of furniture. I could see spending time down there in the summer, where it would be nice and cool. There is a cute little backyard, with lawn and a patio. Unfortunately, it rained so much while we were there that we weren't able to take advantage of it. It would be perfect for the warmer months though. As with any older home, there are some quirks like sticking doors and creaking floors but it just all added to the charm of the place. Thank you Ilyse for being so responsive to any questions we had. We would rent your home again in a heartbeat!"
