  • Location!

"We loved sitting in the living room or on the patio and looking over the treetops, feeling like we were in the mountains instead of in a great residential area in the middle of Portland. We could walk to many good restaurants, bars, and even some music venues, and the convenient bus was just a short walk away. Christy was friendly and easy to work with, but not at all intrusive though she and Stan were living in the upstairs unit. The fruit in the "comminity orchard" just below the house was just coming into ripeness when we left on Oct 1 - I managed to pick some delicious figs but the persimmons were not yet ready."

  • The Perfect VRBO!

"My husband and I loved this VRBO! It was decorated beautifully and supplied with everything we needed. The location is amazing with streetcar access right near by. The view of the river and downtown was lovely. We honestly hated to leave and I will definitely try to stay there again. The owner is easy to get ahold of and so very helpful in answering any questions and accommodating your needs. The concierge is friendly and helpful. So convenient to pick things up at a very well stocked little store right below…you'd be hard pressed to find a better place in the South Waterfront area as well as being so close to the downtown by streetcar (such fun to ride) to enjoy all Portland has to offer."

  • Comfortable stay in this beautiful apt

"My husband & I recently stayed 3 nights in Carolyn's apt and loved it. The location was excellent (near Lloyd Centre & public transit to downtown; within a lovely neighbourhood with easy parking right out front). There was nothing we wanted for in the apt (kitchen was well-stocked {including tea!}, living room couch was comfortable to relax on at end of day, TV easy to use, lots of spare towels, 4 pillows on the bed, good shower). It's a very spacious apt - we could have easily cooked a full meal and ate a the dining room table, but Portland has too many restaurants to hit! The apt is exactly as pictures (it actually seemed larger in person) - with all the charm of a late 30's/early 40's building. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Reaching Carolyn was easy, as was accessing the apartment with her instructions."

  • Late July

"My wife and I stayed in this home in late July for five days. We had been traveling through British Colombia with our kids and then just the both of us stayed in Portland to scout areas for a possible relocation. The clean, comfortable home is in the Hawthorne area of Portland. It is quite close to Downtown and the public transportation in this city is excellent. There are bus stops on Hawthorne just one block from the home. We had a car and had no problems with parking. The home had all we needed to prepare solid meals and enjoy them on the deck. It is a safe, clean home and there is plenty of room. We were able to do laundry, which was great on account of the amount of traveling we had been doing. The owner was able to accommodate us and allow us to be in the home prior to the 4 p.m. check in. Thanks! We had to get up at 3:30 that morning to catch and early flight out of Canada. Surrounding this home there are many interesting shoppes, restaurants, pubs, and distilleries. Portland is a walkers and bikers dream. We hope to stay at this home again in the near future. Thanks to Thomas for everything."
