  • For a Fantastic Stay in Portland

"First time Portland visitors, with dogs, and this house was fantastic. The location is walking distance to a park and to restaurants (go to Pok Pok!!) if you are willing to go a few miles. It is also only a 10 minute drive to everything we went to do from the urban areas, to quaint eating spots, to hiking Mt. Taber. The house itself is a good size and could accommodate a large party even though we were only 2 humans and 3 dogs. The yard is fully fenced with no holes for escapes and very private which is nice. We never heard noise from the shared wall with another unit even though we know someone was staying there. The house was incredibly clean. The furnishings, decor, and paint were all so interesting. The beds very comfortable (slept in both bedrooms just to try them out). I really want to know the paint color in the downstairs bathroom so I can steal it for my own house! Kitchen has all the supplies you could need (even the dishware is pretty), however not many fridge or pantry items (some VRBO places I have stayed have a ton of stuff people have left) so come prepared with food or be ready to shop if staying in. Loved that the downstairs bathroom had a clawfoot for soaking and the upstairs shower was a walk in with two heads. The place has upgrades like Nest for the thermostat and Roku on the tv (even though it was missing for our stay). Communication with the owner was quick and the rental paperwork was easy. A few reasons I have to take away a star (mostly personal preference, not actual issues): while the stairs are beautiful and different they were quite difficult for one of my small dogs (no backs to the stair steps and no banister) to go up (had to carry him up) and the other small dog kept looking like he wanted to jump off the side, the only upstairs bedroom window had no screen and the window itself is flush with the floor so having it open would have created a safety hazard for the dogs if open (dealt with this by putting something in front of it), and a faint pet smell (maybe cat?) in the front room likely form the rug (I'm ridiculously scent sensitive, but my bf said he never noticed it)."

  • Great place for a group in Portland

"This is a very nice house with plenty of space and it is in a great location. It has humble but nice decor, which is exactly what we were looking for. Solid value, we would have spent a lot more getting hotel rooms for our group."

  • So great we went back for more!

"One year later we returned to Portland. We loved Tom's place the first time around so I reached out to him and the place was just as good as we remembered. The location can't be beat. Great coffee, great food, and great places to explore nearby. It's such a convenient location to access all that Portland has to offer. If we're back next year, you can be sure we'll be staying here again!"

  • Amazing Stay in Trendy Portland Neighborhood.

"My teenage daughter and I rented a condo in the Butternut complex for a 5 day stay over spring break. We loved this place! It was so much better than staying in a hotel. I felt very safe, secure and comfortable, which was very important to me since it was just the two of us. There was so many fun things to do close by and lots of great places to eat: Blue Star Donuts is a must, Albina Coffee Press is directly across the street and serves amazing coffee and one house down is Tabor Bakery. Mt. Tabor Park is close and there are a lot of little shops to explore. We loved the proximity to downtown Portland. The owner was very kind and helpful. My daughter ended up having surgery the week before and when I contacted the owner to let her know we might be late, she was very accommodating. When we met the owner to pick up the keys she had upgraded us to a king size bed unit so we'd be more comfortable. Within 24 hours of checking out, my security deposit was returned. We will be back for sure!"
